Knightsbridge turned in a strange performance at Worcester, so preference is for FLASHY BOY at the foot of the weights. His latest third at Stratford wasn’t a bad effort, and if able to build on that display, then there’s no reason why he cannot go close.

17.42 ITUS Event Support Services Novices’ Limited Handicap Hurdle

BUXTED REEL warmed up for this event with a spin on the Flat at Redcar and had previously placed on his last couple of starts in this sphere to suggest he might be able to finally open his account. I don’t think he will get a better chance to do so.

GORE POINT is having a fantastic year, winning his last four outings, including three over track and trip and might not have stopped his sequence. He is the one to beat but the main danger looks to be GOWER PRINCE, who won at Market Rasen by nine lengths and has plenty more to come. In addition, the eight-year-old has no weight on his back.

MY GIRL KATIE has won both starts this year and must have every chance of registering another win in this thin contest. She bolted up here last time out and is fancied to complete the three-timer at the expense of Jack The Savage.

19.12 Marilyn And Millie’s Retirement Handicap Chase

This looks really competitive despite only a handful of runners. IT’S A BREEZE might be able to land the hat-trick though, as he’s won his last C&D starts and an 8lb rise in the handicap might not stop him from going in again. He earns the marginal vote over Thickthorn Tom.
