Three-time C&D winner HURT YOU NEVER must have an outstanding chance off the same mark from when a neck-second at Nottingham. She’s 15lb below her last winning mark, and this is a weak event, so she’s a confident choice to go extremely close.

BALDETTI has made a promising start to his career, placing on both starts, and is fancied to make it third time lucky. He came within a neck of winning at Pontefract last time out and can out all of his all-important experience to good use by opening his account. Great chance.

SHEIKHNSHAH has made the frame in finishing third on all three outings to date and could be ready to strike. He’s been gelded since his effort at Southwell and the hood will be discarded, so it would come as a major surprise if he wasn’t bang in contention at the business end.

I quite like the chances of SPOKEN TRUTH, who is back on the same mark as when second to Danger Bay in last year’s Zetland Gold Cup at Redcar. If he was to stage a repeat performance at this lower level then there’s no reason why this five-year-old can’t produce a bold effort.

SECOND FIDDLE has placed on her last three starts to suggest her turn is near. She is back on the same mark as when successful at Newcastle back in December and given her fair record at this course, she looks sure to be thereabouts.

20.00 Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap

Two I like in this race. MILFORD is largely consistent, always running well, even things have been against him and it was only last year that he placed three times in much stronger events off much stiffer marks (all in the 90s). Off his reduced mark at this lower level, I reckon he’s got a serious chance.

BERGERAC has run poorly in all three starts this year but he’s too well-handicapped to be taken lightly. He has lots of form to his name in much tougher assignments off stiffer figures, so it would come as no surprise to see a resurgence in form here. I think he holds a better chance than his odds imply.
