Pontefract Place 6 Preview | 7th July
13.48 Wakefield Thornes Cricket Club Nursery
CLARET AND BLUES has shaped with promise on all three starts to date and did well to finish sixth from a poor draw at Chester. With more to come, Richard Fahey’s charge looks ready to make a serious impact in the opener.
Tips: CLARET AND BLUES
14.18 Noel John Curtin Memorial Maiden Stakes
TALITHA ROUGE finished a good third on debut at Redcar before finishing fourth at Thirsk when last seen. She is bound to improve with the experience to draw upon and must be considered a major contender.
Tips: TALITHA ROUGE
14.48 Weatherbys Pipalong Stakes (Fillies’ & Mares’ Listed)
With her sights lowered, ARISAIG might well return to winning ways. She has a lot of smart efforts in defeat to her name and has gone well several times under Jamie Spencer. She has the form to play a key role in the outcome and a first win in over two years could be on the cards.
Tips: ARISAIG
15.18 Pontefract Park Silver Sprint Trophy Handicap
DARK CLOUD RISING had plenty up his sleeve when scoring at Ripon last time out and this three-time C&D winner doesn’t look badly handicapped. I think he’s the one to beat on recent evidence, while the likeable BADRI cannot be taken lightly having been successful over track and trip last time out.
Tips: DARK CLOUD RISING & BADRI
15.48 Pontefract Squash And Leisure Club Handicap
I quite like the look of CLOUDY ROSE. She’s 5lb lower than when last successful and connections have booked Tom Marquand for the ride. Back down to a really exploitable mark, I can see her running a big race. She has the ability to win this if producing her best.
Tips: CLOUDY ROSE
16.18 Go Racing Bet With Jayne Handicap
FLYING FLETCHER remains on the same mark as when he last got his head in front and was last seen finishing a solid third at Wetherby. He has placed plenty of times off slightly higher marks, so a return to winning form could be imminent.
Tips: FLYING FLETCHER
