Southwell Place 6 Preview | 9th June
14.30 Ladies Day Sunday 16th August Handicap Chase
FRIENDS DON’T ASK has placed on all three starts this term and was unfortunate to be mugged right on the line last time out. The assessor is allowing him to compete off the same mask, so compensation could well be on the cards.
Tips: FRIENDS DON’T ASK
15.00 Sun Racing Summer Jumps Championship Handicap Chase
BEORMA is on a roll at present, winning his last three starts and is only 3lb higher returning to fences. He undoubtedly has more to come and is strongly fancied to complete the four-timer for the Skelton’s.
Tips: BEORMA
15.30 Southwell Novices’ Handicap Chase
CHER MONSIEUR built on the promise of his chase debut when winning with plenty to spare at Plumpton last time out and remains the one to beat. If he is to get beaten then NAZARE is the one likely to capitalise,
Tips: CHER MONSIEUR & NAZARE
16.00 Ladies Day Sunday 16th August Maiden Hurdle
HAWK’S ROCK has shaped very nicely on both hurdle starts and appears to have found a good opportunity to get off the mark. WHO’S GLEN had some smart form on the Flat and has placed in four of his five outings, so he’s feared most.
Tips: HAWK’S ROCK & WHO’S GLEN
16.30 Vaughandale Construction ‘Built To Last’ Novices’ Handicap Hurdle
COLLANSI has gradually improved with each start in this sphere and finished a solid third on handicap debut last time out. This is a really weak race and both Ben Jones and Ben Pauling are a really good combination, so this unexposed six-year-old might be able to open his account.
Tips: COLLANSI
17.05 Free Racenight Thursday 18th June Handicap Hurdle
CALLIN BATON ROUGE has become dangerously well-handicapped (6lb lower than her last winning mark) and could go well following an encouraging third last time out. I will include FIGHTING FALCON who scored on stable debut at Uttoxeter when last seen and could have more to offer.
Tips: CALLIN BATON ROUGE & FIGHTING FALCON
