14.05 Weatherbys Racing Bank Novice Stakes

RUNMAN should be hard to beat in the opener. I liked the way he got the job done on debut at Salisbury last year and returns with an excellent chance to extend his unbeaten record. He can strike before moving up in grade in due course.

14.40 Betfred Blue Riband Trial Stakes (Listed)

SAXON STREET might be able to upset the favourite in this event. He was a very impressive winner on debut at Chelmsford and his connections have a good record in this event, so hopefully he can step up to the plate and emerge as a main threat to the favourite.

15.15 Lilley Plummer Risks City & Suburban Handicap

This looks like it’s anybody’s event with all of them having a squeak. RATHGAR gamely denied an odds-on favourite last time out and has a chance to prove that success to be no fluke. I’ll also include ASMEN WARRIOR, who has placed on his last two starts and should again be thereabouts.

15.50 Weatherbys Global Stallions App Great Metropolitan Handicap

NIGHT BREEZE is only a pound higher than when claiming a stronger race at Ascot last August and connections have appointed Rossa Ryan to ride. He also shaped well on his sole previous start over C&D, so he’s a player, as is SING US A SONG despite returning from a long absence.

16.23 Betfred ‘Nifty 50’ Handicap

ON MESSAGE seemed really well-suited to a positive ride when coming out on top at Wolverhampton last time out and could continue where she left off on handicap debut. An opening mark of 80 also seems lenient, so she’s a contender, likewise the unbeaten TIMBER TWELVE.

16.58 Betfred ‘In Celebration Of Mark Friar’ Handicap

TRIBAL RHYTHM warmed for this event with a good second at Bath on his return and is only a pound higher than when winning this twelve months ago. He’s a major player in his repeat bid with Oisin Murphy taking the ride this time.
