ESSCORT’KHEOPS is proving really consistent and overcame a bad mistake at the final hurdle to score at Plumpton two weeks ago. Stepping back up in trip back in handicap company won’t do him any harm, so he’s fancied to defy his big weight by going in again.

15.15 Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle

HALFTHEWORLDAWAY has improved with each start, and despite racing keenly last time out over track and trip, she was a great winner from the front. Even under a penalty, I see no reason why she can’t follow up. Jollie Dame might emerge as the main danger.

ANTHARMINASKING has fallen off a cliff in regard to form but he’s used to competing at a higher level and is 5lb lower than when last successful. He’s only had the four starts in this sphere as well, so there should be more to come and this isn’t a strong event. He could easily outrun his odds.

16.20 Uncommon Practice Handicap Chase

This looks like a difficult race to solve but THE SCORPION KING might be worth a chance. He’s now 4lb below his last winning mark and must be considered off this figure. Ideally, softer ground would be better for him but Ben Jones presence is a massive positive, so hopefully he runs well.

16.50 Tom Jones Live At Chester Racecourse Mares’ Handicap Hurdle

EASTERN SHORES could be the answer to this event. She produced a decent effort when only finding one too good last time out and the fourth has subsequently won. Off a surprising 2lb lower mark, she is strongly fancied to make a serious impact.
