This is a weak event so a chance is taken on MASTER DUNRAVEN, who produced an eye-catching third at Plumpton last time out and has surprisingly been dropped a pound by the assessor. If he can build on that display, I see no reason why the six-year-old can’t open his account in this sphere.

It could be worth siding with top weight PARK TALK. He has shaped nicely on all four starts under rules, including when fourth on handicap debut last time out and should have plenty more to offer on his first go over fences. Harry Derham, who has his team in good form, sends just this sole runner to the venue.

This race can go to WOODLAND PARK. He’s not finished out of the places on all seven starts to date and the way he has shaped over shorter suggests this longer trip should be right up his street. He was narrowly denied at Uttoxeter when last seen and can take the step up in trip in his stride. The ground will also suit.

With no weight on her back, I really like the claims of LAYSOFT. She finished a distant third in a Listed event last time out and is eased in grade ahead of her handicap debut. An opening mark of 101 is surely lenient as well, so she’s fancied to have a major say in the outcome.
