Plumpton Place 6 Preview | 23rd February

13.30 Alfriston Hotel – Have You Visited? Maiden Hurdle

The opener looks all about MONDO MAN. This high-class horse on the Flat has been tried at a much higher level in this sphere and acquitted himself well in defeat, including when second on hurdles debut behind Lulamba. His latest fourth on handicap debut at Ascot was good, so this is a fabulous opportunity for him to open his account.

Tips: MONDO MAN

14.00 LGT Wealth Management Handicap Hurdle

KOOL KID placed on his only previous start in this grade and is sure to appreciate the drop in class after his latest effort at Fontwell. His stable is having a fantastic season, and given this is such a weak event, this bumper winner could be about to register a first win over timber.

Tips: KOOL KID

14.35 Johnnie Boden Backs Jamie’s Farm Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Chase

LUMI PLUGIN beat a higher-rated horse when successful over C&D last time out and must have every chance of doubling his tally over fences. A 5lb higher mark seems lenient judging on the manner of how he travelled and succeeded here last time, so he gets the vote.

Tips: LUMI PLUGIN

15.15 Howden Rural Insurance Handicap Chase

ALTO ALTO likes it here and remains 5lb lower than when last successful which coincidentally came over track and trip. He pushed  hot favourite very close last time out and a reproduction of that effort off only a pound higher figure should see him go one better.

Tips: ALTO ALTO

15.45 Jolly Sportsman Supports Jamie’s Farm Novices’ Limited Handicap Hurdle

Given he’s improved run-by-run, MINELLA KAISER must be competitive back over hurdles off the same mark as when second at this course two weeks ago. He remains totally unexposed compared to a number of these and his trainer/jockey often do well at this venue. I think he’s going to prove hard to beat.

Tips: MINELLA KAISER

16.15 Sky Sports Racing Supports Jamie’s Farm Handicap Chase

Getaway King goes in search of the four-timer but I think OSTRAVA DU BERLAIS might have his measure. The eight-year-old defied a 2lb higher mark when last seen in this grade and has mostly competed in much tougher events, so she’s one to definitely consider.

Tips: OSTRAVA DU BERLAIS
