This can go the way of CALDWELL POTTER, who can take the step up in trip in his stride. This Grade 1-winning hurdler won very impressively on his chase debut at Carlisle and can put his experience and fitness to good use by seeing off Nicky Henderson’s chase debutant, Jango Baie.

13.15 Catesby Estates Handicap Hurdle

TO CHASE A DREAM is improving with each start, and having powered clear to complete a hat trick of wins at Carlisle last time out, Paul Collins’ charge may well be up to bagging a four-timer with Harry Cobden in the saddle. The likes of WILLMOUNT and VALGRAND are feared most ahead of TINTINTIN and WRECKLESS ERIC.

I’m all over DASHEL DRASHER today, who has a flawless record over this distance and second time out. He won his last handicap start off this mark, and his second in last year’s Stayers’ Hurdle is a quality piece of form. He’s also a Grade 1 winner in this sphere and will be fitter from his comeback run at Ascot. I think he wins.

15.00 Glenfarclas Crystal Cup Cross Country Handicap Chase

STUMPTOWN has taken very well to this discipline, winning back-to-back cross-country events at Punchestown, and has a fantastic opportunity to win this en route to potentially taking the main event in March. His stablemate VANILLIER should improve from his debut in this sphere last time out when behind the former and can also go on the shortlist.
