Newmarket Place 6 betting preview | August 26th

13.25 – JenningsBet Fillies’ Novice Stakes – 7f

EXIMIOUS wasn’t strong in the betting on debut but that didn’t stop her from shaping with promise to finish second and she might be able to go one better with the step up in trip sure to unlock improvement. GOLD AURA couldn’t land the odds when last spotted but she retains potential and should be thereabouts.

Selections: EXIMIOUS, GOLD AURA

14.00 – JenningsBet Fillies’ Handicap – 7f

NIKKI’S GIRL was a bit below-form last time but she knows how to win and will definitely appreciate the ease in grade. She has frame claims once more, while MUMCAT should benefit from the return to the turf and this mark doesn’t look beyond her in what is a pretty average bunch. I’ll be quite surprised if one of these two choices don’t reach the frame.

Selections: NIKKI’S GIRL, MUMCAT

14.35 – Best Bet With JenningsBet British EBF Novice Stakes – 7f

This is a good opportunity for the Richard Hannon-trained CLASSIC to make amends for his odds-on defeat when last spotted. He had previously ran a race full of promise when fourth on debut at Newbury that has worked out strongly and he is worth another chance in a race that could prove informative further down the line. He is the one to beat here and should make the frame at the very least.

Selections: CLASSIC

15.10 – jenningsbet.com Handicap – 1m

SHIGAR shaped with promise in his first three starts and showed improved form when winning in good style last time which came on the back of a wind operation. He looks like a big player on handicap debut. DION BAKER was disappointing last time on stable debut so while he has a bit to prove at present, he shouldn’t be discounted off a mark that’s within range here on the balance of his overall form to date.

Selections: SHIGAR, DION BAKER

15.45 – Bet Online With jenningsbet.com Handicap – 1m4f

WAHRAAN hasn’t been seen for a while but he’s off a two pounds lower mark than when last spotted and has winning form at this course. I think he’ll run a good race on his return, while HMS PRESIDENT only found one too good at Ascot three weeks ago and shouldn’t have any issue back over this longer distance. He should make his present felt again under the guidance of William Buick.

Selections: WAHRAAN, HMS PRESIDENT

16.20 – JenningsBet Britain’s Biggest Independent Bookmaker Handicap – 1m2f

SIMPLY SANDHEIM has continued to improve throughout the season and was well on top at the finish when returning from a small break at Newcastle last-time-out. He has now won his last five starts and William Buick is back in the saddle, who’s three-from-three on him. Even though he has to defy a penalty, he should make another bold effort to keep the winning sequence going here.

Selections: SIMPLY SANDHEIM
