Worcester Place 6 Preview | 15th October

14.22 Happy Birthday Chris Handicap Chase

In the opening race on the card, I’m willing to take a chance on BUTCHERS BILL, who was formerly with Gordon Elliott and could just prove to be a lot better than this grade. He was beaten a fair way on chase debut when third at Downpatrick back in July, but he’s sure to have learned a lot and could be very well treated off a mark of 100.

Tips: BUTCHERS BILL

14.57 PJ Nicholls KGM Korea Genuinely Made Handicap Chase

DEXTER wasn’t able to sustain the challenge of Chuggy when second at Uttoxeter last time out but that was a decent effort in defeat and he remains in the picture off the same mark. Of the others, I’ll add in SUPERSTYLIN, who was a dominant winner over C&D last time out and he should be bang in contention off only a 7lb higher figure.

Tips: DEXTER & SUPERSTYLIN

15.28 Step Into Luxury With Purple Granite Open Maiden NH Flat Race

Plenty of guesswork involved in this event and a chance is taken on WESTERN CROSS, who represents a stable that does well with similar types. The other one I’ll take a chance on is SEE THE FLAME for the Tom Lacey team.

Tips: WESTERN CROSS & SEE THE FLAME

15.58 CopyBet and Worcester Racecourse 2026 Partnership/EBF ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle

Milan Tino looks untrustworthy, so I’ll be siding with BIG GINGE for his in-form team. He will find this much easier than when down the field in the Imperial Cup and his earlier placed efforts in this sphere are good enough pieces of form to take this event. He’s placed in six of his eight starts to date and can deservedly outclass his rivals.

Tips: BIG GINGE

16.28 Richard And Ann Hitchings Memorial Novices’ Hurdle

The experience of AXEL BLEUE should give him a distinct advantage in this field, going up against a couple of interesting newcomers in the shape of Local Derby and Ignore The Door, who deserve respect on debut. However, the Bowen’s runner pushed a promising type for much of the event at Uttoxeter last time out when runner-up on his first go in this sphere and this dual bumper winner should prove hard to beat with more to come.

Tips: AXEL BLEUE

16.58 FBC Manby Bowdler Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle

I’m going to side with the thriving ORANGE DIAMOND in the final race on the card, who can gain a remarkable fourth C&D in succession. The seven-year-old is now 17lb higher than when he earned the first of those wins, but the way he travelled last time out and won with plenty to spare suggests he might still be ahead of the handicapper.

Tips: ORANGE DIAMOND
