12.07 Flaked Oats Memorial Novices’ Handicap Chase
In the opening race, I’ll take a swing at COTILDA for Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden. She’s been mostly consistent for connections and has only found one too good on her last couple of starts to suggest she’s in form. Off a 2lb lower figure, she looks poised to make an impact.
Tips: CLOTILDA

This race presents GAELIC PRIDE to register a first win in this sphere for Warren Greatrex. He went very close to winning at Cheltenham on his penultimate start when a narrow second and wasn’t disgraced at Ascot last time out, where he finished fourth. He can capitalise on the ease in grade under James Bowen.

The Syd Hosie-trained SINCHI ROCHA underperformed when only ninth at Sandown last time out, but he’s clearly better than that and his two previous runner-up efforts have worked out well. I think he’s got a great chance on hurdles debut.

The hat trick-seeking POSTPONED LEGACY is going from strength-to-strength and was a comfortable winner at Uttoxeter last month. I don’t think the 10lb rise will be enough to prevent another positive showing, so he looks set to feature heavily in the outcome being the only last time out winner in the field. A lot of others have something to prove.

LUCKY BERE didn’t run to his best when eighth at Cheltenham last time out and should be able to get back on track. Most of his previous form in this sphere has worked out nicely and that fact that connections have retained Harry Cobden must mean a big performance is in the works. I’ll be surprised if he’s not better than a mark of 108.

TURNDLIGHTSDOWNLOW has improved with each start and came very close to completing a hat trick of wins when second to a promising sort at Sandiown last time out. The front pair were well clear of the remainder and the third (Ikarak) has won a similar race since off a mark of 127. Eased in grade, with more to offer over the distance, I really like his claims.
Tips: TURNDLIGHTSDOWNLOW
