Uttoxeter Place 6 Preview | 14th March

13.50 JenningsBet 200 Shops Nationwide Handicap Hurdle

A PERFECT DAY might have won a stronger race at Chepstow last month but for a seriously bad mistake at the second last hurdle when in front and is fancied to make amends with his sights lowered.

The handicapper has surprisingly left his mark unchanged and Ben Jones takes over in the saddle in this occasion. With plenty more to come, and conditions to suit, Ben Clarke’s charge makes plenty of appeal in the opener.

Tips: A PERFECT DAY

14.25 JenningsBet Handicap Hurdle

A PAI DE NOM has four wins and two placed efforts to his name over hurdles and was a very easy winner last time out.

He had previously finished third in the Lanzarote Hurdle on ground quick enough for him and has only been raised 5lb for his latest success. The yard won this in 2024 and had the runner-up last year and I think he’s a major contender.

ON THE ROPES might be vulnerable to some younger legs but he doesn’t have many miles on the clock in this sphere and Danny Mullins does the bare minimum weight. He could outrun his odds.

Tips: A PAI DE NOM & ON THE ROPES

15.00 JenningsBet Midlands Grand National (Premier Handicap Chase)

In the feature race on the card, I am struggling to see past J’ARRIVE DE L’EST, who must be well handicapped off a mark or 126. He has so far competed in a pair of cross-country events at Cheltenham for Emmet Mullins and finished runner-up both times.

The form of each race has worked out well and the assessor has left his mark unaltered. The seven-year-old has his stamina to prove but if he stays, I think he will win. James Bowen’s confidence is sure to be high after an excellent week.

Tips: J’ARRIVE DE L’EST

15.35 JenningsBet Novices’ Handicap Chase

AS THE FELLA SAYS made it fourth-time lucky over fences when easily getting off the mark at Newbury last month and should be able to kick on now.

The fact that he beat a next-time-out winner gives him even stronger claims, so off this 7lb higher figure, Nicky Henderson and James Bowen can register another winner this week.

Tips: AS THE FELLA SAYS

16.10 JenningsBet ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle

KADASTRAL was unfortunate to bump into subsequent Supreme Novices’ Hurdle third Sober Glory at Newbury last time out but will face nothing of that one’s calibre.

He remains a smart prospect and even beat Talk The Talk (Grade 1 winner) and Klub Du Reve (Grade 2 winner) in a Newbury bumper last March. Dan Skelton’s charge can make it two wins from four starts over hurdles.

Tips: KADASTRAL

16.45 JenningsBet Handicap Chase

MOOR END remains in really good heart and backed up his chase debut success with three placed efforts, including when runner-up to two subsequent winners on his last couple of outings.

Off a pound lower mark than last time, he has every chance of going one better.

Tips: MOOR END
