The Derby: First 4 pool information

The Derby takes place at Epsom on Saturday and, fittingly for a demanding but hugely rewarding race, you can play our Rollover First 4 – Finishing Order pool. Here is all the information that you’ll need to claim your FreePlay and get involved.

What is it?

The First 4 – Finishing Order pool challenges the player to predict the correct finishing order in the Derby from first place down to fourth.

How to play?

Simply select the horse you believe will finish first in the ‘1st’ column, the horse that will finish second in the ‘2nd’ column and so on.

You can make multiple selections per position to give yourself a greater chance of winning, although remember that each selection you add will increase the overall cost of the ticket, which will be displayed on screen.

If you want to reduce the cost of your ticket, you can either remove selections or lower your stake per line in the betslip. Reducing your stake will also reduce the prize that you are playing for.

The Verdict

Our in-house experts have collaborated to deliver their verdict on this year’s Derby.

1st BROOME: Has been a revelation since stepping up in trip and clearly has talent to spare. His form as a 2yo was mightily impressive and I believe he will go very well here.

2nd BANGKOK: Has already shown an ability to travel well in his races and, keeping in mind his recent form, should suit be suited by the test of Epsom.

3rd ANTHONY VAN DYCK: Following his win in the Lingfield Derby Trial, he is stepped up in trip, a decision that could reap rewards.

4th NORWAY: A speculative outsider to round off our selections. He could well pick up the pieces, running on from the read. His win at Newmarket last season suggested that he needed to move up in trip to this mile and a half.
