Southwell Place 6 Preview | 30th January

13.02 Midnite Aint Your Grandads Bookie Restricted Novice Stakes

ARLO’S GIRL looked like a potentially smart filly when winning by three lengths at huge odds on debut at Lingfield, and if she can prove that win to be no fluke, then she’s an obvious player on her return. FILLY FODEN is on the verge of gaining a first success given she’s placed on her last four outings and her vital experience could prove crucial in the opener.

Tips: ARLO’S GIRL & FILLY FODEN

THEQUIETMAN has placed in three of his six starts and his second on debut when trained in Ireland reads well. The winner and third are rated so much higher now and the selection finished an eye-catching third on stable debut over C&D. He wasn’t in the same form last time out but he’s back down in grade and should go very well off a mark of 72.

Tips: THEQUIETMAN

CLOVER TIME has finished runner-up on all of his last five starts and is surely going to get his head in front sooner rather than later. I’ll also include MINNESOTA LAD finds it difficult to succeed but he’s very well handicapped and was beaten just a neck over C&D two starts ago off this exact figure.

Tips: CLOVER TIME & MINNESOTA LAD

This looks like a hard race to predict the winner but FEDERAL ENVOY is a dual C&D winner and is 4lb lower than the last of those wins. His latest fourth wasn’t a bad effort and Rab Havlin takes over this time, so he could run well at double-figure digits. MERESIDE DIVA and GRABAJABBA both have form off higher marks in stronger events and are a couple of others to consider.

Tips: FEDERAL ENVOY, MERESIDE DIVA & GRABAJABBA

The one I like in this race is DOCTOR KHAN JUNIOR. He is a C&D winner in a higher-class event and is only a pound higher than when scoring at Wolverhampton last February. That was also in a deeper event. He ran well from the front when fourth last time out at Kempton and must have every chance with his sights lowered.

Tips: DOCTOR KHAN JUNIOR

15.38 Midnite A Next Generation Betting App Handicap

MOON SNIPER is only 2lb above his last winning mark and has posted some good efforts in defeat of late, including when third at this course 17 days ago off this mark. He should be thereabouts, likewise AJEJ, who is aided with blinkers and has a chance, having gone close twice last year.

Tips: MOON SNIPER & AJEJ
