Sandown Win 6 Preview | 7th March

TURENNE showed a decent level of form in this sphere in France, winning once as well as running with credit in a Listed event and has made a positive start for David Pipe.

He’s placed in two of his three outings and was set to win at Fontwell in between those placed efforts when he fell at the last when clear. An opening mark of 121 on handicap debut could prove lenient, so he’s fancied to have a say in the matter.

The Paul Nicholls-trained BIBE MUS has a win and three placed efforts to his name over timber and heads the list of dangers.

Tips: TURENNE & BIBE MUS

GENTLEMAN TOBOOT might have the class to defy his big weight. David Pipe’s smart prospect has won three of his six starts, including two of his three hurdle outings and wasn’t at his best when third at Leicester last time out.

He’s undoubtedly better than that judged on previous form and has since been freshened up. He gave 6lb and a beating to a subsequent Grade 2 winner at Exeter and that is the best form on offer. With more to come, he’s fancied to make a bold bid.

Olly Murphy’s SCORPIO RISING has won his last three starts in this sphere (both handicap starts) and is another with more to offer, so he could be another to pose a serious threat. This race looks tailor-made for him.

MONDO MAN had a huge confidence-booster when a wide-margin winner at Plumpton and now that he’s learning to settle, this could be the time he gains a big victory for connections.

I do like the look of TOP JIMMY though. He made a positive start to his hurdles career, winning twice and placing in the other two and was far from disgraced when third in a hot Grade 2 event over C&D on his penultimate start.

His latest second wasn’t a bad effort either, so with improvement forthcoming, don’t be surprised to see him go well.

AFADIL finished a close-up third in this race last year and should also be thereabouts off a pound lower mark. He’s regularly consistent in large-field events and is dangerously well treated.

Tips: MONDO MAN, TOP JIMMY & AFADIL

The Gary and Josh Moore-trained TI’MAMZEL won a Listed event on debut and backed that up with a good second at Windsor. She definitely has more to come and looks set to feature prominently in the outcome.

MILLSTATT ABBEY looked a bit special when a nine-length winner first time out at Uttoxeter and could rank higher if that performance was no fluke. I can see her taking a serious hand in the finish.

Tips: TI’MAMZEL & MILLSTATT ABBEY

BUCKSY DES EPEIRES was super game when fending off Jacks Parrot at Ludlow last month and another positive ride could well see him follow up in this event.

IMPERIAL ALEX should be all the better from his pipe-opener over hurdles at Cheltenham in November and has winning form at a higher level in this sphere, so he’s a very interesting participant off a low weight.

MR HOPE STREET’s latest third at Haydock looks top-class form given the second (Iroko) and the winner (The Jukebox Man) have both won since.

Dan Skelton’s runner wasn’t beaten far in that race and is down in class back in handicap company off a fair mark. This will be just his third chase outing and I can see him making a major impact.

The hat-trick seeking FOLLOWCATO must be feared despite a career-high figure,
