Royal Ascot Place 6 preview | 21st June

14.30 – Queen Mary Stakes – 5f

BORN TO ROCK was really impressive on debut when winning from the front and the booking of William Buick here catches the eye. She could be well-above average and could be hard to beat. BALSAM won a Listed event when last seen and connections have appointed Ryan Moore to ride and therefore she cannot be underestimated.

Tips: Born To Rock, Balsam

15.05 – Kensington Palace Fillies’ Handicap – 7f

VILLANOVA QUEEN makes her handicap debut off a nice mark and the form of her third behind Homeless Songs last season is a strong piece of form. The champion jockey Colin Keane will ride and his mount has sound claims, as does INDIAN WISH who shaped well on stable/Irish debut behind the former at Tipperary before opening her account in a Listed event easily last time. She’s another to consider.

Tips: Villanova Queen, Indian Wish

15.40 – Duke Of Cambridge Stakes – 1m

INTERNATIONALANGEL warmed up for this with a good third at Meydan last time and ran well in a Group 2 on her last start on the turf in the UK at Newmarket for connections. Hollie Doyle will ride, who landed a Group 1 yesterday. GRANDE DAME drops in class after finishing third in a Group 1 when last seen and has to enter calculations.

Tips: Internationalangel, Grande Dame

16.20 – Prince Of Wales’s Stakes – 1m1f

ADAYAR won the Derby and King George two seasons ago and was narrowly denied over C&D in the Champion Stakes last year. He won nicely on his reappearance and looks set to go close. I also like MY PROSPERO, who was third at this meeting last year and probably has an even bigger performance in him.

Tips: Adayar, My Prospero

17.00 – Royal Hunt Cup – 1m

INTELLOGENT is a pound lower than when narrowly denied into second in this very race last year. He is better drawn this time and this has been the plan all season. He has a great chance of going one better. CHASING APHRODITE has won three times on the turf already, including over C&D last time and has frame possibilities at least under Hayley Turner.

Tips: Intellogent, Chasing Aphrodite

17.35 – Queen’s Vase – 1m6f

ETNA ROSSO has looked like he is crying over for a stamina trip like this given he won well on debut and was rallying behind Peking Opera at Navan last time. He gets the main vote, while the unbeaten GREGORY has been impressive in both wins to date and has a good chance.

Tips: Etna Rosso, Gregory
