Romford Tips: Side with Not So Tardo in the Friday night maiden

Our in-form greyhound expert Cheltmental returns to take on the £15,000 Win 8 at Romford on Friday night and he reckons that the well drawn Not So Tardo could be very difficult to beat. Read on for all of his Romford tips and, if you agree, join his Syndicate.

Cheltmental: “With some great blog results recently and two Place rollovers scooped this week, I’m really confident we’ll land a Win pool before long. Tonight looks a great opportunity as I don’t feel we require as much cover and, with some luck, I think this could be the night. Below I explain why…”

18:27 – 400m OR

This looks at first glance to be a pretty competitive heat, however I think CHOPCHOP BASIL should take this with one of his better exits. He’s nicely drawn inside Trap 2, although 3 will move inwards at the first.

Trap 5, WHIZZY DIAMOND, ran well after trouble in his last run when finishing in front of the selection and Trap 6, SIGNATURE CALLUM had things his own way in that same race as was in front of the pair mentioned.

Selections – 1, 5, 6

18:44 – 400m OR

This is Heat 1 of the Friday night maidens but it looks a fair standard.

Again, Trap 1 looks quite well drawn and, with one of his better starts, should land this.

SAVAN TEQUILA, in Trap 2, trialled well here but might lack enough early on to win this. However, ROAD TO SUCCESS in 5 has loads of early pace but is drawn outside another fast starter who went very wide in his trial.

Selections – 1, 2, 5

19:03 – 400m OR

Heat 2 of the Friday night maiden looks to hold a similar pattern, in that Trap 1 NOT SO TARDO seems very well drawn and possesses the times to land this. He was sent off as 2/1 favourite last week in an Open and ran well after encountering trouble early but, with Trap 2 likely to give him room early on, I think he’ll sweep round to land this.

PRO DIAMOND in 5 has trialled well but will be doing it the hard way and he’s drawn between some serious early pace.

Selection – 1

19:17 – 400m OR

Heat 3 looks to be a fair standard again but this time it’s full of early pace. Early trouble looks a given but Trap 6 ROXHOLME HARVEY has trialled well, especially at Sheffield, and he might just be the best drawn runner in the race.

Both 1 and 5 would be a danger if they can secure a clear run with the former less likely to achieve that given his slower early sectionals.

Selections – 1, 5, 6

19:33 – 400m OR

This is a race for bitches only but in Trap 1 we have the recent Puppy Cup champion. She’s very well drawn as the only railer and SWABY LUCIEJANE could be a threat but ROXHOLME DIAMOND in 5 has broken 24 seconds round here but doesn’t arrive in the best form.

Selections – 1, 4, 5

19:49 – 225m OR

A sprint here which Trap 6 should land given her average race times. All the pace is on the outer though so a smooth round isn’t assured and, as 4 finished in front of her on their last outing, she rates as the only danger.

Selections – 4, 6

20:06 – 400m OR

This appears to be a very competitive race with 4 of the 6 runners only covered by a length on their best times.

Trap 1 looks well drawn, as is the theme of the night, but I think Trap 6 is capable of performing better than he showed in a recent trial.

ROXHOLME JOEY, in Trap 5, won well at Doncaster and looks a live threat.

Selections – 1, 5, 6

20:21 – 575m OR

The first stayers race of the night and this is a maiden open. That being said, Trap 4 SAVANA ME DADDY has won an Open over 550m and his recent trial over 4 bends suggests he could be hard to beat.

Trap 3 was sent off 11/10 favourite for an open here a while back and appears to be the only concern.

Selections – 3, 4
