Romford tipping preview: Savana Jessica the one to beat

We’re off to a fast start with back to back sprints before the ladies take the limelight during a really smart card at our Romford tipping preview this Friday evening. As always with the £30,800+ Rollover Win 8 we’ll need a bit of luck but I’m as confident as ever that we’ve got a genuine chance to land it this week. Romford tipping preview

18:09 – 225M – OR

The first of two Sprint heats kicks off our Romford tipping preview and there’s no hiding from the fact I expected WALL GARDEN to win over C&D last time out where he ultimately was very disappointing. While I expect he is capable of mixing it in this company, it’s very much a case of once bitten twice shy.

Even more so when you have SLANEYSIDE O’NEIL facing off again who bolted up in that race last week. ROB ROY won in equally impressive fashion the week prior and there is just 1 spot that separated those winning times. These are notoriously tricky races but I’m happy to play the pair in this opener.

Selections – 3, 5

18:28 – 225M – OR

The second heat looks less exciting than the first but I do think SAVANA JESSICA is the one they have to beat. She’s the joint eldest runner in the field so there’s no improvement to come from her but she’s is a course and distance winner and looks to have a likeable draw. Her recent trials at Henlow show she’s still got the ability and with a level break she’s the one they have to beat.

Selection – 5

18:43 – 400M – OR

Standard 400m open race next and it look a quite competitive race. Trap 5, FILM STAR might be the one runner in the field with a bit to find on his debut run here last week, but he didn’t trap well or enjoy a favourable round so I think he’s bound to come on for it and has much more to offer. WESTWAY DONALD has only trialled here but again should build on that effort.

SIGNATURE DANCER in 1 has been woeful from the boxes the last twice but is capable if pinging like we know he can and DROOPYS MAC in 2 would be looking to take advantage if 1 did fall out the traps again. He’s a genuine sub 24 dog round here but just doesn’t quite get to the bend in front enough so his strike rate has suffered. TOWSTAR BILLY in 4 is another who is capable on his day but his recent Henlow runs leave something to prove while KOVAC BAILEY on the wide outside is a recent back to back A1 winner and he’s clearly a major player on the clock too.

Selections – 1,2,5,6

18:58 – 400M – OR

Another 400m Standard affair here and 3 of the 6 runners faced off last week. It was AERO RACKITUP, the biggest price of the trio, who came out on top and there were no real excuses for the others but they weren’t beaten far. With that in mind you’d have to think the 1 can follow up and land a hat trick of OR’s.

In his win prior he had BUBBLY CAIN in behind who was drawn in the coffin box which really put paid to his chances. Drawn in 2 for this means he’s of serious interest again. HATHER REGAL in 6 trialled well here after missing the kick so is bound to come on for that but can’t afford to be left behind early in here.

DROOPYS PREMIER in the 3 box is a lightly raced youngster but looks an ideal type for this track and trip. His recent sprint trial at Towcester was lightening quick (ran 15.93 – 10 and 15.82 is the quickest winning race time in 2020) and he stays at least 400m as his times have shown around the likes of Monmore (420 circuit and he led an open at the 4th bend after being 6th at the first). This does look a fairly hot race but I’m keen to see this lad run round here.

Selections – 1,2,3,4,5,6

19:18 – 400M – OR

First of three Bitches 400 heats and SEAGLASS SHADOW is expected to follow up on last weeks win. She shows rapid pace into the first bend, she looks well drawn in 5 although the 6 dog typically traps well, and she’ll be impossible to peg back if getting on the bunny again.

JESSES SISTER in 4 could be a threat is securing a clear run and turning the first on terms with the 5 but I’d be happy enough that SEAGLASS SHADOW is the one they all have to step up to beat so she’s banker material.

Selection – 5

19:38 – 400M – OR

The second heat now and this one might not take as much winning but if firing on all cylinders I’d make CHILLI AKMIBO in 2 the most likely winner. She’s a runner who does have to avoid any slight interference to be able to show her best and there is pace on her inside from the 1 so I’d be looking at both 4 and 5 as alternatives.

24.16 and 24.33 respectively are their fastest recent times but I do feel AGILE DOROTAS in 5 might just have some more improvement to come after her decent effort from this box last week and that brings those closer than the times suggest in my mind. Either way, this race won’t be won in a fast time so I’m happy to take some cover.

Selections – 1,2,4,5

19:58 – 400M – OR

Final heat now for the girls and this looks the warmest. PINK OSTERIA ran very well when favourite last week and was only just beaten by SEAGLASS SHADOW so with a nice draw again on the rail she has to enter calculations.

HOLDEM LAUREN trialled from the red box and clocked a very smart 24.22 just over a week ago and this September 18 whelp surely has more to come. The draw in 3 for her though does look to be a worry. SWABYS LUCIEJANE in 4 was only half a length behind the 1 last week so clearly should be in the mix again.

Selections – 1,3,4

20:17 – 400M – OR

A puppies 400m to round off the Romford tipping preview and there are some very fast dogs on show. DROOPYS RITZ hacked up last week but he now races from the black jacket in 4 which will be as wide out as he’s ever raced. SIGNET MAFIA in 5 is an unraced runner but he’s lit up the tracks on trials both here and at Monmore and looks to be very well drawn while 6, DROOPYS PADDY was behind both 1 and 4 last week, but does stay on and can trap better than he showed then so could be one at a bigger price to make his presence felt.

TOMMYS PLUTO in 3 has raced just once which was in a D1 at Hove where he finished last after trouble at the bend. He’s best watched for now as this is no easy introduction to open racing. GOLDIES LINEKAR is drawn in 1 for this which I think will be a huge help. He should be leading up trap 2 no problem into the bend and for me he might just be able to reverse placings with the 4 dog if getting first run. PANTONE QUEST in 2 is a really nice puppy but he just lacks a bit of early and in the trapping department to make a real case for him, but he’s quick enough.

Selections – 1,4,5
