PREVIEWING THIS WEEK’S MILLIONAIRE POOL

This week, the Millionaire includes high stake games in Germany and Italy. With the pool jackpot over £2.32 MILLION, why would you not take this opportunity?

We preview the pool here.

Southampton vs West Ham- Sat, Feb 04 15:00

Southampton will be looking to recover from their 2-1 loss to Swansea. The Saints have won only one of their last three Premier League games at St Mary’s. But, they can take comfort from their record against West Ham. Southampton have kept a clean sheet in their last three games against West Ham.

West Ham struggled in their first game since Dimitri Payet left for Marseille. They looked lackluster and toothless against a rampant Manchester City side. Although the Hammers are improving on the road, having lost only one of their last four away games.

Four of the last six meetings between these two at St Mary’s have resulted in a draw. Including two 0-0 draws, I’m backing this to be the case again.

Prediction: 0-0

West Brom vs Stoke- Sat, Feb 04 15:00

Tony Pulis welcomes his former employers to the Hawthorns on Saturday. West Brom have a strong home record, having won five of their last six league home games. This is usually the case with Tony Pulis sides. Although, the ease with which the Baggies have been scoring isn’t as common with Pulis’ sides.

Stoke visit West Brom having lost three of their last four league games on the road. But, these losses were at Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. The Potters have failed to score on the road only once this season, despite winning only four away games. Sadio Berahino will be out to prove a point against his former side on his return.

Stoke have a good record at the Hawthorns, winning four of the last six meetings. Three of these have been an away win to nil. But, I can’t see them winning this one.

Prediction: Other Draw

Dortmund vs RB Leipzig- Sat, Feb 04 17:30

Dortmund welcome the Bundesliga’s surprise package of the season. Dortmund have an imperious home record with only one home defeat this season. Yet, Dortmund have won two of their last six and currently sit fourth in the table. If they are to climb up the league, they need to pick up a result in this game.

RB Leipzig enter this game having won eleven of their last thirteen Bundesliga game. But, have lost their previous two away league games and have failed to score in both of these. Leipzig need to rediscover the goal if they are to maintain their league position.

Both of these teams are fantastic to watch. Despite their strong season, I can’t see Leipzig overcoming Dortmund’s home record. A high scoring home victory is on the cards here.

Prediction: Other home win

Huddersfield vs Leeds- Sun, Feb 05 12:00

Fourth meets fifth in this fierce Yorkshire derby. Under the guidance of manager David Wagner, Huddersfield sit fourth in the Championship. The Terriers have lost one of their last eleven games and only two at home all season. A win here will strengthen their playoff credentials and damage Leeds’.

Since the appointment of Gary Monk, Leeds have turned over a new leaf. They recovered from their shock defeat to Sutton by beating Blackburn 2-1. Monk’s men have scored at least two goals in their previous three Championship games. With Chris Wood already on 17 league goals, they have a talismanic striker to lead their playoff push.

Meetings between these two usually produce goals and excitement. I’m backing Leeds to grab a win in an entertaining match.

Prediction: 2-3

Leicester vs Man Utd- Sun, Feb 05 16:00

Manchester United take a trip to the East Midlands, to face champions Leicester. The Foxes have mounted the worst title defence in recent memory. Although, they were unfortunate to concede to Sam Vokes’ goal against Burnley. Ranieri’s men should be fired up to ensure they don’t drop any closer to the relegation zone.

Manchester United sit 6th in the table. A spot where they have sat for a seeming eternity. Three consecutive league draws ihas United seeking a catalyst to their season. Although they do remain undefeated in the Premier League since October.

United have an excellent record at the King Power Stadium, with four wins and a draw from the last six. The only blemish, the incredible Leicester 5-3 victory from 2014. I can’t see Leicester pulling off such a result again, a comfortable United win is on the cards here.

Prediction: 0-3

Juventus vs Inter Milan- Sun, Feb 05 19:45

The Millionaire closing leg comes from Italy. Juventus head into this having won their last 27 home Serie A matches. Their home dominance is evident from conceding only one goal in their last five home Serie A games.

Inter are also in strong form, with seven consecutive Serie A victories. Mauro Icardi has already bagged 15 goals this season, and will be looking to add to this tally at the weekend. Although, Inter have won only one of their last six visits to Juventus Stadium.

Juventus have won the four of the previous six meetings between the sides. I can’t look past their dominance at home.

Prediction: 2-1
