Premier League Upsets: Social Media Reaction
In a weekend full of Premier League upsets, social media was as entertaining as usual, poking fun at the results of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Everton vs. Man United was the early kick off on Easter Sunday, with Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer’s men needing a win to put themselves back in the frame for a Champions League spot. Unfortunately things didn’t go to plan and they were hammered 4-0.
Much of the reaction centred on the Norwegian’s stewardship of the club…

Whilst suggestions were also being made as to who might replace him…
Give it to Giggsy until the end of the season.

One fan was mocked for joining the great pantheon of unfortunate football tattoos…
whatever wrong choices you’ve made in life, can’t be half as bad as this ?#EVEMUN pic.twitter.com/pUTjQHNV1s

Whilst fun was also poked at the amount of time United spent in the centre circle…
“What time do Man Utd kick-off?”
1.43pm.
And 1.58pm.
And 2.30pm.
And 2.45pm.
And 2.53pm.— Dejo (@Dejannnn4) 21 April 2019
Arsenal vs. Crystal Palace was up next and, not to be outdone by United, the Gunners were defeated 3-2 by the Eagles. Shkodran Mustafi made a serious of costly defensive mistakes and took the brunt of the social media anger…
Emery has said in his press conference that Mustafi has been consistent all season, he’s 100% correct, he’s been consistently SH*T!!!

Questions were asked about the ambition of the club, with fans unhappy with many of the defensive players in the Arsenal line up…
Jokes aside if Mustafi is in our squad next season, you will have to question the ambition of the club. He is on 90kpw and almost costs us every match he starts. He isn’t good enough for a top half PL team.
Same goes with Jenkinson and Elneny. Not good enough to start for us.— P™ (@Cechque) 21 April 2019
One ‘fan’ even accused Mustafi of breaking the Drake curse…

And it seemed as though another wouldn’t be forgiving him quickly…
Goodnight to everyone except Shkodran Mustafi.

With Tottenham, United and Arsenal all losing, Chelsea were technically the winners of the weekend having taken a point. However, with that point coming against Burnley, some fans weren’t convinced the Champions League was a good idea anyway…
Honestly at this point, I don’t even think that UCL for Chelsea is suitable [If the transfer ban is not lifted]. Hazard seems to be going to Madrid, Hudson Odoi is unfortunately out for a long time. What are we gonna do in UCL with Pedro/Willian/Higuain/Giroud.

Another suggested that a mutual agreement between Arsenal and Chelsea might be in order…
Arsenal and Chelsea need to come up with some agreement as soon as possible, one team should finish top four and the other can win the Europa League.
Both sides get Champions League football, everyone’s happy.

And the collective failures of the big clubs was noted…
Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United trying to secure a top four spot this season…
