Colossus Place 6 vs. Tote Placepot results comparison
If you’re watching the day’s racing at home, or indeed live at the track, place pools are a fantastic way to bet on multiple races across a card for relatively low cost with potentially big returns. But where should you play them? In this article we compare the results of the Colossus Place 6 and the UK Tote Placepot since July 2018, to find out which has been the more profitable pool for players to get involved in.
What is the Place 6?
The Place 6 is a racing betting pool which challenges you to select one or more horses to ‘place’ across six races on a nominated meeting. You can select multiple horses per race (known as ‘perming’) to increase your chances and, because there are multiple places available on the majority of races, often several of your selections can win.
The Place 6 is identical to the UK Tote Placepot in what it requires you to do but they differ in terms of results and some features. Colossus boast extra features, such as Syndicates (the ability to crowdfund tickets) and Cash Out (receive cash offers on tickets between legs).
So how have the Place 6 and the Placepot compared in terms of results since Colossus launched the Place 6?
Which offers better results, the Colossus Place 6 or the Tote Placepot?
Since launching in July 2018, the Place 6 has consistently offered Colossus player greater dividends than the UK Tote Placepot, providing greater returns in 2180 of the 3425 meetings in which the pair have gone head to head and lesser returns in just 1245. This means that if you’d bet with Colossus instead of the Tote since the Place 6 launched, you’d have enjoyed better returns 64% of the time.
Indeed, of the 31 calendar months since the launch of the Place 6, the Tote Placepot results have emerged victorious from the montly head-to-head just once, June 2019, when they triumphed by a single meeting. You can check out the monthly results for yourself below.
