Karl Matchett’s Sunday Pick 8 Syndicate Preview

Karl Matchett previews Sunday’s Pick 8 pool with a Syndicate available for you to join.

Aberdeen vs Celtic
The hosts are one of the few sides who can cause Celtic problems in the SPL, but after a midweek European disappointment the Scottish champions will be keen to bounce back with a result. Beat third-place Aberdeen and the title gets another step closer.

Prediction: Draw or Away Win

Feyenoord vs PSV
The fight for the Eredivisie title isn’t quite yet over, but Feyenoord are well out of the running. The 20-point gap between the sides should be reflected in the match on Sunday and the table toppers will continue their hopeful march toward silverware. PSV to celebrate.

Prediction: Away Win

Bayer Leverkusen vs Schalke
A key battle in the fight for top-four places, and the home side are well-placed to come out of it better off. Schalke have fallen short of late against the likes of Bayern, Hannover and RB Leipzig, and Leverkusen’s heavy attacking artillery at home should get the job done for them.

Prediction: Home Win or Draw

Athletic Club vs Malaga
Malaga have been a shambles this season, right from their summer transfer dealings and leading to a naturally dismal showing during the campaign. They’re bottom for a reason, and even an out-of-form Athletic should be able to see them off.

Prediction: Home Win

Pick 8 Syndicate

Juventus vs Atalanta
Atalanta are on a fantastic run of form away from home, but Juve continue to look relentless in chasing down leaders Napoli. The two clubs face off again midweek in the Coppa Italia; Juve are home for both fixtures, and will supremely confident of winning both, too.

Prediction: Home Win

RB Leipzig vs FC Koln
Cannon fodder Koln have the worst away record in the Bundesliga and are bottom of the table without much of a sniff of survival. RB Leipzig are fighting for a top-four finish, perhaps even second place if they can find more consistency in the last quarter of the campaign. It shouldn’t be close.

Prediction: Home Win

Roma vs AC Milan
Roma have rediscovered their winning touch of late, but it’s hardly been in impressive fashion, beating the bottom two and Udinese. They still don’t quite convince as a truly elite side and Milan will feel they will have chances to showcase their own recent rise to form; European football next season is still on the cards if they finish well, but they’ll need to beat a few teams above them to jump up the table. They could definitely get something at the Olimpico this weekend.

Prediction: Home Win or Draw

Sevilla vs Atletico Madrid
On both recent form and season-long showings, Atletico Madrid head into this clash as the most likely candidate to win. They still aren’t flashy, but they get the job done and they’ve become relentless and consistent again, losing just once all season and not yet even conceding 10 goals. But Sevilla, just once in a while, click in impressive fashion and can look capable of beating anyone. They could pull off a surprise result in front of their own fans to boost their top-four hopes.

Prediction: Home Win, Draw or Away Win
