Newmarket July Festival: Three Best Bets

Having had 4/4 winners with my Royal Ascot best bets, I have picked out three for the July fixture at HQ.

Rebel’s Romance (Princess Of Wales’s Stakes)

REBEL’S ROMANCE has certainly had a career to remember but he’s still at the peak of his powers and can register another big-race success in this Group 2 contest. The eight-year-old is a C&D winner and was last seen winning at this level in Meydan. There is no doubt that he’s the best horse in the race and conditions will be perfect for him. This multiple top-level winner can add another win to his remarkable CV. Great chance.

Precise (Falmouth Stakes)

Blue Bolt and PRECISE provided us with winners at the Royal Meeting in my best bets column and it’s the latter who shades the vote in the Falmouth Stakes. Aidan O’Brien’s star filly has six wins from eight starts and was last seen landing a fourth Group 1 win of her career in the Coronation Stakes. She is also a top-level winner over track and trip and that is a big advantage to have over her main rival. I doubt she’s finished improving either, so I see no reason why she should be opposed.

Venetian Sun (July Cup)

The July Cup can go the way of VENETIAN SUN for Karl Burke. She has won over C&D and was last seen taking the Commonwealth Cup. That was the second time she beat Division and this filly has yet to be beaten over six furlongs, with five wins from five starts. With every box ticked, she can land a second Group 1 win of her career. I’m struggling to see her beaten. She has excellent claims.
