Karl Matchett’s Sunday Pick 8 Syndicate Preview

We have a Pick 8 pool kicking off with Rangers vs Celtic on Sunday at 12.00.

Karl Matchett tackles the Pick 8 pool and shares his thoughts on the selections in his Syndicate below.

Rangers v Celtic
A game which can go either way at the best of times, it perhaps goes even more this time around. Celtic are clear at the top but Rangers can make it uncomfortable for the champions if they find victory on home soil. Add in the possibility for red cards at any moment and this game could tip three points in both directions without warning.

Prediction: Home Win, Draw or Away Win

Arsenal v Watford
A classic Arsenal win coming up: little pressure on them, not much to play for, irrelevant opposition. They’ll pick up a few of these wins, go on a little run and have a few wondering if the corner has been turned. Next time the pressure’s on they’ll be right back to where they started, but this should be three points.

Prediction: Home Win

Notts Forest v Derby
Derby are flying and despite a few draws of late, their away form is exemplary. It’s not too long ago that Forest lost four on the bounce at home and it’s more likely that the game will tip in Derby’s favour than the hosts’.

Prediction: Draw or Away Win

Stuttgart v RB Leipzig
Go back a few months and RBL were looking good to perhaps take second spot in the Bundesliga; now their inconsistency means they’ll struggle even to finish in the top four. Stuttgart have been in great form and only Bayern Munich have taken more points at home.

Prediction: Home Win

Pick 8 Syndicate

Las Palmas v Villarreal
If there’s a potential upset on the cards on Sunday, this could be it. Las Palmas remain in the relegation zone but Villarreal are erratic and lacking in confidence right now. Should be a tight game, but the home side will see this as an opportunity to boost survival hopes.

Prediction: Home Win or Draw

Inter v Napoli
Sunday’s heavyweight clash comes in Italy, and while Inter’s home form is impressive and they’ve won back-to-back games of late, it’s Napoli on the road who are unstoppable. Not a single loss, just seven conceded and still holding Juventus at bay in the title fight—expect that to continue here.

Prediction: Draw or Away Win

Athletic v Leganes
A disappointing campaign all told for Athletic Club, but they can at least look to push back toward mid-table with a home win here over an out-of-form Leganes, ignoring their win over bottom club Malaga last time out.

Prediction: Home Win

Werder Bremen v FC Koln
A Monday night home win to round off the syndicate, with Bremen easing their own relegation fears against the Bundesliga’s bottom club.

Prediction: Home Win
