Tom Brady Super Bowl wins and statistics
Already considered by many to be the greatest NFL player of all time, Tom Brady finally left the New England Patriots this year after 20 seasons with the franchise. He won six Superbowls in his time at the Patriots before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, incredibly Tom Brady added to his Super Bowl wins by dismantling the Kansas City Chiefs in February’s showpiece giving him an incredible seventh Super Bowl victory, in what proved to be a record-breaking weekend for sports legends. The Buccaneers made the most of home advantage in the Super Bowl but, regardless, Brady’s accomplishment in landing a seventh career title has to be regarded as one of the greatest in the sport’s history. Here are some remarkable statistics from the career of Tom Brady.
Tom Brady Super Bowl wins and statistics
Tom Brady joined the New England Patriots in the 2000 NFL Draft. Incredibly, the player who would go on to be regarded as the greatest of all time by many was only picked in the sixth round of the draft, making him the 199th pick overall.
In 2002, Brady led the Patriots to their very first Super Bowl win, when they defeated the favourites, the St. Louis Rams, 20-17. At the start of the season Brady was not even The Patriots’ first choice quarterback. He only became a starter after Drew Bledsoe suffered an injury against the NY Jets and surely even Tom Brady himself would have had no idea about the success, or number of Super Bowl wins, that he would go on to have.
After missing the playoffs the following season, Brady then began to compile his ridiculous career statistics by leading The Patriots to back-to-back titles in 2003 and 2004, with wins over the Carolina Panthers and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Patriots then lost their next two Super Bowl appearances in 2007 and 2011, both against the New York Giants.
In 2015, Brady won Most Valuable Player (MVP), after defeating defending champion Seattle Seahawks, 28-24. It was the Patriots first Super Bowl victory in 10 years. Then, in 2017, Brady led an epic comeback in overtime, recovering from a 25 point deficit to beat the Atlanta Falcons, 34-28,
He won his sixth Super Bowl in 2019, when the Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams in the lowest scoring game in Super Bowl history, 13-3. Then Tom Brady added his seventh, and arguable the most remarkable of his Super Bowl wins, in 2021 when he led the unfancies Tamba Bay Buccaneers to a crushing 31-9 victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
So, the remarakable career statistics of Tom Brady have seen him win the Super Bowl seven times from 21 attempts at a rate of one in three. Surely he can’t add an eighth, can he? Here are ten other remarkable stats and records from Brady’s career.
