Seven Major Footballing Events Since Hazard’s Last League Goal

Eden Hazard’s dramatic downturn in form has been one of the most interesting, and some might say curious, stories of this Premier League season. Hazard, who had eight Premier League goals and 12 in all competitions at this stage last year, has suffered from niggling injuries and a drastic loss of form, and has looked a shadow of his former self in recent months.

His last league goal came back in May, when he notched a winning header against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, a goal that ensured the Blues would life the Premier League trophy for the fourth time. But eight months is a long, long time in football, and a heck of a lot has happened since the Belgian last scored.

Here’s a list of 7 major footballing events since Hazard’s last goal:

Leicester’s Jamie Vardy has scored in 11 consecutive Premier League games, and already has 16 for the season.

Barcelona have won FIVE major trophies (Champions League, La Liga, Copa del Rey, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup)

Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini have been handed eight-year FIFA bans

Manchester United signed relatively unknown French forward Anthony Martial for a fee that could eventually reach a staggering £61.5m

Leeds United have had three ‘permanent’ managers (Neil Redfearn, Uwe Rosler, Steve Evans)

Gareth Bale has managed to score 13 La Liga goals, despite suffering three separate calf injuries since August

Jürgen Klopp has become Liverpool boss, Jose Mourinho has left Chelsea (again), Gary Neville has taken the role of Valencia head coach and Kevin Nolan has been handed the position of player-manager at Leyton Orient
