He’s so well handicapped and must have a chance. THE FEMININE URGE is another that’s well treated on her best form (scored off higher marks) so she’s the other one to note.

PERFECT NATION confirmed the promise of his debut second at Wolverhampton when easily going one better at Lingfield. He’s open to a lot more progress and is fancied to record back-to-back wins at the expense of Avionics, who is undoubtedly the main danger for Team-Balding.

A chance is taken on CYRIOT DIASPORA, who’s a dual C&D winner off marks of 63 and 68, and finished a solid third here last time out. She has plenty going for her and is fancied to make an impact with Oisin Murphy booked to ride. She can give Bird Of War the most to think about.

Any of these can win this event, so a tentative vote goes MARCH OF TIME. She makes her handicap debut off a fair mark of 64 and has displayed enough promise to suggest she is capable of winning a race like this. Hopefully she runs well under Rossa Ryan.

Newcomer FLAGBEARER could be the answer to this race. He has a fantastic pedigree and represents connections who always do well with youngsters. Given he looks the part on paper, don’t be surprised to see him run well.

GELATO was an extremely easy winner at this course when last seen and I don’t think a 7lb higher mark will prevent her from going in again to be perfectly honest. She can prove that the latest win to be no fluke as this isn’t a strong event by any stretch of the imagination.
