Fallon Sherrock’s Premier League opponent revealed
She shocked the world when becoming the first woman to win a match in the PDC World Championships in December and will be hoping to create more history when she competes in the PDC Darts Premier League in February. With the competition now just days away, Fallon Sherrock’s Premier League opponent has been revealed to be Glen ‘Duzza’ Durrant.
Durrant, a 49-year-old Middlesbrough native, made his own Premier League debut as a ‘challenger’ last year, in what was his first full season competing in the PDC, having previously played in the BDO. He had been extremely dominant in the BDO, winning the BDO World Championship in three consecutive seasons.
After a hugely successful debut season in which he reached the semi-finals of the World Matchplay, the World Grand Prix and the Grand Slam of Darts, the Teesider earnt the right to be a full time player in this season’s event.
He will be Fallon Sherrock’s Premier League opponent in week 2 of the competition at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, having faced the 2019 World Championship finalist Michael Smith in the opening week.
Sherrock has made the same journey from BDO regular to PDC Premier League wildcard and she will be hoping to emulate Durrant even further by eventually becoming a Premier League regular herself.
She will become the first woman ever to compete in the Premier League and, with none of last season’s challengers managing a win, could also become the first player to accomplish that feat, assuming John Henderson fails to win in week 1. Naturally, Fallon Sherrock’s Premier League opponent will be doing everything within his power to stop her.
