Exeter Place 6 preview | 10th January

13.00 – Exeter Stayers’ Conditional Jockeys’ Training Series Handicap Hurdle – 2m7f

KEPAGGE has been competing in stronger events than this and ran well when third in a better race than this last time. He is a pound lower for this race and will relish conditions, so David Pipe’s charge has the form to be extremely competitive in the opener here.

FANCY YOUR CHANCES has a good claimer booked to ride, who takes off 8Ib, and has made the frame in both her starts over hurdles. She makes her handicap debut off a lenient mark and could make an impact with more to come.

Selections: KEPAGGE, FANCY YOUR CHANCES

13.35 – Exeter On Haldon Hill Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase – 3m

BLACKJACK MAGIC made a promising chasing/stable debut when second of nine in November and could go close with that experience in his inventory with more to offer. ANGLERS CRAG would have gone close on his chase debut over C&D without falling last time and could make amends here.

The stable form is a concern but EMINENT POET is a decent horse on his day and could go well off an attractive mark. ROSE OF ARCADIA has won four of her last five starts and, off just a 5Ib higher mark than last time, which has worked out strongly, she could win again in this race.

Selections: BLACKJACK MAGIC, ANGLERS CRAG, EMINENT POET, ROSE OF ARCADIA

14.10 – Get Daily Tips At racingtv.com Handicap Hurdle – 2m5f

MR CRAFTSMAN is very lightly raced but has shaped with some promise in all three outings under rules to date and should have been freshened up ahead of his return here.

He could go well at large odds and make the frame if the break has made a difference. THE IMPOSTER completed his hat-trick in good style at Wetherby two weeks ago and once again has leading claims.

Selections: MR CRAFTSMAN, THE IMPOSTER

14.40 – British Racing School 40th Anniversary ‘National Hunt’ Maiden Hurdle – 2m

IOUPY COLLONGES made a winning bumper debut at Hereford in November under a positive ride and he seemed to be fine on the ground so today’s conditions will hold no fears. He makes his hurdles debut in a very winnable race so with his trainer in flying form, he should go close.

Selections: IOUPY COLLONGES

15.15 – Timeform Premium Ratings Available At racingtv.com Handicap Chase – 3m

All of these have some sort of a chance but EQUUS DREAMER is generally consistent and responded well to first-time cheekpieces when second at Carlisle. He shaped well when third over that same C&D when last seen and seemingly handles all conditions.

His trainer is in good form and this eight-year-old remains open to improvement as a chaser. I know he has to concede weight to all of his rivals but he should be extremely competitive off this mark. His jumping is his biggest asset and that will serve him well at this course.

Selections: EQUUS DREAMER

15.45 – Lawrence Tower Handicap Hurdle – 2m

GLOBAL AGREEMENT looked a bit laboured when last seen but the soft/heavy ground here will be right up his street as his record on soft or worse reads 23121F145. In respect of weight from all rivals. Milton Harris’ charge has to be considered here.

MACK THE MAN has won over C&D and is dropped in class here. He will be effective on the ground and cannot be discounted given he is 9Ib below his last winning mark, which came against tougher opponents around this time two years ago.

Selections: GLOBAL AGREEMENT, MACK THE MAN
