Colossal cash-out that kicked off season in style plus more!
It might be fair to say that we were caught with our pants down as the new season got underway this weekend, as there were several large cash-outs in our Millionaire Pick 6.
After a couple of low-scoring games on Friday night that saw the start of the 2017/18 Championship season, Saturday’s fixtures followed suit with some very predictable scorelines for you folks, including two 1-0 victories and a 1-1 draw in the first 3 legs of the Millionaire.
The German SuperCup between Dortmund and Bayern Munich was the fourth leg, which ended 2-2 and left 32 units still vying in the race for the £1,000,000 Jackpot. Some rather large cash-out offers were now on show for those still alive in the pool and certainly tested the resolve of some of the punters. Indeed, one customer who was offered £24,795 (from a £6 bet!) found it too hard to turn down, and cashed 60% for £14,877. They will have been jubilant at this point, and things were to get even better…
Leg 5 was the battle for the FA Community Shield between Arsenal and Chelsea. 0-0 at half-time, the customer cashed another 10% for £3,035, with them needing 1-1 to be the final score after 90 minutes. An early goal for Chelsea followed by a red card for Pedro with 10 minutes left would have left the customer more hopeful. Rightly so, as Arsenal newboy Sead Kolasinac headed home and the game finished 1-1!
Now staring at an offer of £65,599 for the remaining 30% of their ticket, they decided to cash-out 20% for £43,733 prior to the final leg. The decision turned out to be a great one, as the final leg (Bolton 2-3 Leeds) would have knocked them out. £61,710.44 of winnings in total – this customer must have been over the moon with their weekends betting! Kudos to them.
Elsewhere
Another player cashed-out for a more modest – but not to be scoffed at – £4,573 from an £0.80p bet! Still alive after 5 legs, but needing ‘Other Draw’ to come through as their only selection, they took 100% of the offer a few minutes before the final leg kicked-off. It turned out to be a good choice, but only just, as they came within one Bolton goal of the Jackpot.
Finally
One Betfair customer passed up on a massive offer after leg 5 from their free bet! They slalomed through the first 5 legs on their FreePlay ticket, before passing up the £6,469 offered to them. We praise their nerve here at Colossus, but unfortunately they missed out on the Jackpot after needing 0-0 in the final leg. £21.31 was taken in Consolation money, but they’ll be regretting having not taken at least a fraction when they were offered £6,469.
