Chester Win 6 preview | 10th May

13.30 CAA Stellar Earl Grosvenor Handicap

PERCY’S LAD is a C&D winner and ran well on his return when second at Newmarket. He should be on the shake-up, as should former C&D winner BOARDMAN and the well handicapped DANCING MAGIC. The winner should come from one of these three.

Tips: Percy’s Lad, Boardman, Dancing Magic

14.05 Boodles Darley ‘Confined’ Maiden Stakes

MR HAMPSTEAD shaped promisingly when second on his debut and ran very well when fourth on his return at Newbury. With that pipe-opener under his belt, he should go close. EPHESUS shaped well when he finished third on his debut at Dundalk and is an interesting runner.

Tips: Mr Hampstead, Ephesus

14.35 tote.co.uk Free Bet Friday Handicap

BOTANICAL has two wins and three placed efforts to his name from three starts and returned as a comfortable winner at Hamilton when last spotted. He goes well fresh and should be suited to the trip, so he’s a definite for the shortlist.

Tips: Botanical

15.05 IRE-Incentive, It Pays To Buy Irish Huxley Stakes (Group 2)

ISRAR should have won the Gordon Richards Stakes two weeks ago, where he travelled the best before being caught close to home. He should be hard to beat with his fitness assured; though, Sir Michael Stoute’s PASSENGER won a hot Group 3 race when last spotted and should have more to come this season.

Tips: Israr, Passenger

15.40 Duke Of Westminster Supporting The Chester Cup (Heritage Handicap)

ZOFFEE has run some massive races off higher marks, including when narrowly denied in this race last year. He has his favourite good ground and has been trained specifically for this race, so he’s a huge player from a good draw. DUKE OF OXFORD is a progressive stayer and should find even more improvement over this longer distance. I rate his chances very highly here.

Tips: Zoffee, Duke Of Oxford

16.15 Duke Of Westminster Supporting The Chester Plate Handicap

LAW OF THE SEA ran well to finish fourth in the Chester Cup on this card last year and has to be feared. PRINCE ALEX returned as a smooth winner at Newbury last time out and should make a bold bid, while the prolific YORKINDNESS will love the ground and should be ready for this on her seasonal return.

Tips: Law Of The Sea, Prince Alex, Yorkindness
