Cheltenham Win 6 Preview | 1st January

12.20 Sonic The Hedgehog 3 In Cinemas Now Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase

KALIF DU BERLAIS showed no ill effects from his Carlisle tumble when beating Tedley at Newbury and should be hard to beat despite his big weight. VINCENZO also beat Tedley when scoring on his chase debut at Windsor and is the cover option to the favourite.

Tips: KALIF DU BERLAIS & VINCENZO

12.55 Richmond Villages And Bupa Care Homes Maiden Hurdle

DIVA LUNA was turned over on her hurdles debut, but better is expected from the Grade 2 bumper winner in today’s race. I do really like PIERROT JAGUEN, though, who has a lofty reputation, and this sole PTP winner must be respected on rules debut for the in-form Olly Murphy team. Sean Bowen rides.

Tips: DIVA LUNA & PIERROT JAGUEN

13.30 Betfair Handicap Chase

It’s hard to look past BROADWAY BOY, who has an excellent course record and will find this easier to dominate than when runner-up in the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury last time out. He can take the scalp of his elderly exposed rivals.

Tips: BROADWAY BOY

14.05 Betfair Exchange Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap)

COLONEL HARRY looks sure to appreciate the drop in trip and grade and is very well handicapped off a mark of 146. I can see him going close under his favourite conditions, while the likes of LOUNGE LIZARD and SPRINGWELL BAY must be considered, given they both have useful course form in the book.

Tips: COLONEL HARRY, LOUNGE LIZARD & SPRINGWELL BAY

14.40 Best Odds On The Betfair Exchange Handicap Hurdle

TWIG has finished runner-up in all four starts here, including in the Ultima last season off this mark, and has every chance of outrunning his large odds. DEEP CAVE caught the eye here last time and must be thereabouts with more to come, while the hat trick-seeking STRACKAN and well-treated AN TAILLIUR are others to note.

Tips: TWIG, DEEP CAVE, STRACKAN & AN TAILLIUR

15.15 Dornan Engineering Relkeel Hurdle (Grade 2)

GOLDEN ACE is back at the scene of her biggest win, and knowing she will strip fitter from her comeback run at Ascot, she is fancied to resume winning ways. LUCKY PLACE, SALVER, and LANGER DAN all boast solid course form, though, and add an extra layer of spice to the race.

Tips: GOLDEN ACE, LUCKY PLACE, SALVER, LANGER DAN
