Cartmel Place 6 Preview | 25th May
MIGHTY FLEUR benefitted for the application of cheekpieces under a positive ride when opening her account at Fakenham last time out. She ran really well on her sole previous course start and is fancied to take the opener under the champion.
Tips: MIGHTY FLEUR
14.13 Johnny & Tony Connell Memorial Handicap Hurdle
EVENWOOD SONOFAGUN recorded back-to-back wins here last year, including when winning this event off a mark of 102. He’s 9lb lower this time and has undergone surgery following a fair sixth of 13 at Musselburgh. I think he’s a standout proposition with everything taken into consideration.
Tips: EVENWOOD SONOFAGUN
14.48 Johnny & Tony Connell Memorial Handicap Hurdle (Div 2)
OUR LAURA B has been winless for a long time but her last win came off a 7lb higher figure and has experience of this track. Furthermore, her rider reads this venue effectively, so given she’s become very well-handicapped, it’s possible she will be involved at the business end.
Tips: OUR LAURA B
15.23 RF Miller & Co Handicap Hurdle
TRANQUIL SEA backed up his previous win at Plumpton with a good fourth at Haydock and would have been closer if ridden a bit closer to the pace. Off an unchanged mark, he should be thereabouts, as should AL SAYAH, who was a place in front of him in third.
Tips: TRANQUIL SEA & AL SAYAH
15.58 Hugh Cavendish Veterans’ Handicap Chase
TOMMIE BEAU returned to his best form when taking the Norfolk National in excellent style last time out and has a fantastic opportunity to register another success. He will love the ground and has three course wins to his name, so he should be able to outclass his four rivals.
Tips: TOMMIE BEAU
16.35 Molson Coors Handicap Chase
GOT GREY hasn’t been seen for a while but represents a trainer that does well here and he’s back on his last winning mark. He could be primed to run well, though the in-form COUP DE COEUR remains the one to beat on recent evidence.
Tips: GOT GREY & COUP DE COEUR
