Beverley Win 6 preview | 14th May

14.15 IRE-Incentive It Pays To Buy Irish Novice Stakes

ASSERTIVELY created a fine impression in winning on debut at Ripon and despite shouldering a penalty, Karl Burke’s two-year-old should be hard to beat. EAST TYRONE only found one too good on his debut at Doncaster and can be recognised as the main danger.

Tips: Assertively, East Tyrone

14.46 Clearanswer Call Centres Selling Stakes

This is a good opportunity for LOCHABER to open his account. He pulled clear with the favourite at Doncaster when only beaten half a length and must have every chance of going one place better with a repeat performance. Alice Haynes’ well-handicapped filly VANITY PLAYS is a solid alternative.

Tips: Lochaber, Vanity Pays

15.15 Annie Oxtoby Memorial Handicap

The last time DIGITAL won on the turf was off a mark of 90, so he is evidently well treated off 73 at present. His latest third at Wetherby was decent and he could defy top-weight off an unchanged mark. The in-form MAHARAJAS EXPRESS cannot be discounted in his current mood, while THANKUAPPRECIATE has the form to play a leading role.

Tips: Digital, Maharajas Express, Thankuappreciate

15.45 Annie Oxtoby Memorial Handicap

HERAKLES has made a good start to the year and has made the frame in his last couple of starts. He must be respected, as should HAVAGOMECCA, who finds herself 11Ib lower than when she last got her head in front. I will also include former C&D winner SOUND REASON, another runner that is well-handicapped and more than capable of making a serious impact at this level.

Tips: Herakles, Havagomecca, Sound Reason

16.15 Bowel Cancer Screening Programme Saves Lives Handicap

This is probably the most difficult race on the card, but top-weight BELTANE overcame a 5Ib higher mark when successful over C&D 11 months ago, and should be in the firing line if able to build on his latest third at the same venue. YOUNG FIRE returned to form with a decent showing at Thirsk when finishing fourth and could improve on that off a career-low mark.

Tips: Beltane, Young Fire

16.45 All-New All-Electric Lexus RZ Handicap

STRAIGHT A was highly tried in a couple of deep races last summer after winning at Yarmouth and should be all-the-better from her comeback fourth at Doncaster. He could run a big race, while FLICKERING HALO has hit the frame in all three starts on the all-weather and should have more to come on the turf. I can see him outrunning his large odds.

Tips: Straight A, Flickering Halo
