Bangor Place 6 Preview | 27th October
13.40 Halloween Raceday Handicap Chase
Last-time-out winner SLEEPING SATELLITE could be the answer to the opener. He gamely fended off his rivals at Stratford three weeks ago and a 4lb rise seems very fair. With more to come, I see no reason why Fergal O’Brien’s charge cannot go close in his follow-up bid.
Tips: SLEEPING SATELLITE
14.12 Paul Ferguson Jumpers To Follow Novices’ Handicap Chase
Plenty to consider in this wide-open event with marginal preference for SARACAN BEAU. A winner at Ayr last November, the six-year-old was found out in Grade 2 company, but was back on track when third at Kelso. An opening mark of 119 on his handicap/seasonal/chase debut seems lenient and he could be ready to pose a serious threat.
Tips: SARACEN BEAU
14.47 Archway Homes Malpas Handicap Chase
Alan King has been amongst the winners of late and the one I like is top-weight BETTERFOREVERYONE. He was a winner over four miles at Hexham last time out and has a win and a place from two course starts. Even if this trip is on the short side, I still expect him to at least fill the frame.
Tips: BETTERFOREVERYONE
15.20 Elevenses Distillery Alfie’s Legacy Mares’ Handicap Hurdle
AUDACIOUS ANNIE should be all the better from her comeback run when sixth on handicap debut at Uttoxeter and looks poised to make more of an impact this time. She must be well handicapped off a mark of 111 having thumped a 109-rated horse back in April.
Tips: AUDACIOUS ANNIE
15.55 Classic Additions Novices’ Hurdle
SPECTACULARSUNRISE represents a stable in serious form and this bumper winner made a promising hurdles debut last month when third at Perth. The runner-up has won since to advertise the strength of the form, so he’s fancied to do his bit and comfortably get off the mark.
Tips: SPECTACULARSUNRISE
16.30 Countryside Day On 12th November Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle
Lots of in-form rivals in this event, but I’m going to put forward DOCTOR KILDARE. Sam Thomas appears to have his horses fit, with a second and a winner from his last two runners. This five-year-old has yet to build upon his promising bumper form but has joined a stable that can clearly ready one and an opening mark of 112 should he more than exploitable.
Tips: DOCTOR KILDARE
