Ascot Win 6 Preview | 20th December

12.45 Howden Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle

EAST INDIA EXPRESS has yet to taste defeat when fresh (2-2) and looks absolutely thrown in here off a mark of 123 with Freddie Gordon claiming a further 3lb. He’s a major contender, while C&D winner STONER’S CHOICE and top weight CHAMPAGNE TWIST can go well, too.

Tips: EAST INDIA EXPRESS, STONER’S CHOICE & CHAMPAGNE TWIST

13.20 Howden Maiden Hurdle

BELLIANO shaped promisingly when runner-up to subsequent winner The New Lion at Chepstow and has every chance of going one better. His biggest danger is probably BLOCK ROCKIN BEATS, who scored on debut at Cheltenham in October before he was narrowly touched off back at the same venue last month. He could go very well on his hurdles debut.

Tips: BELLIANO & BLOCK ROCKIN BEATS

13.55 Howden Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase

I’m banking on IBERICO LORD to hopefully concede weight to his three rivals. Nicky Henderson’s Betfair Hurdle winner scored on his chase debut at Kempton last month, and, with a lot more to come, the class act in the field can remain unbeaten in this sphere with bigger targets to come.

Tips: IBERICO LORD

14.30 Racetech Handicap Hurdle

KING WILLIAM RUFUS has only found one too good in each of his last four starts and could be about to strike with his sights lowered. FASOL has the potential to be much better than this mark and is feared most ahead of AN BRADAN FASA and the consistent TYPHOON FLYER.

Tips: KING WILLIAM RUFUS, FASOL, AN BRADAN FASA & TYPHOON FLYER

15.05 Howden Noel Novices’ Chase (Grade 2)

None of the quartet can be ruled out. The standard setter is JOHNNYWHO, who retains potential in this sphere and should be firmly in the mix. MARK OF GOLD achieved a good level of form over hurdles and is an interesting chase debutant, while the useful pair RARE EDITION and PERSONAL AMBITION must also go on the ticket.

Tips: JOHNNYWHO, MARK OF GOLD, RARE EDITION & PERSONAL AMBITION

15.40 King Edward VII Ascot Membership Open NH Flat Race

BLUES SINGER impressed when winning on his debut at Kempton and came close to defying a penalty over C&D last time out when a nose second. With more to come, he’s a big player for Alan King (only runner today). MONEYGARROW created a good impression when successful on debut at Chepstow and is another to consider.

Tips: BLUES SINGER & MONEYGARROW
