Ascot Place 6 Preview | 8th August

13.35 Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Dash

BOLO NEIGHS last won at this venue off a 3lb higher mark and has shaped well on his last two starts to suggest a return to winning form could be imminent. SPARTAN ARROW is lurking on a dangerous mark and Ryan Moore takes the ride, so with conditions very much in his favour, the six-year-old looks set to make an impact.

Tips: BOLO NEIGHS & SPARTAN ARROW

14.10 Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Stayers

KILMEADEN could get the perfect setup in this event. He’s shaped very well on several starts since stepping up in distance and could get involved if this does turn into an extreme test later on. HERMETIC ran a good race when fourth in the Northumberland Vase when last seen, and should have more to offer, so he’s considered.

Tips: KILMEADEN & HERMETIC

14.45 Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Challenge

CASTLE STUART hasn’t won for a while but has posted several fine efforts in defeat, including when placing at York the last couple of occasions and should be set to go well. I’ll also include FANTASY BELIEVER, who is back on his last winning mark and has the bang in-form Saffie Osborne on his back.

Tips: CASTLE STUART & FANTASY BELIEVER

15.20 Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Sprint

Not a lot separates THUNDER CALL and RED SPELLS DANGER, who have finished very close to each other on their last two starts and I expect no different here. Both of them have the ability to make a serious impact and have more to come, so they must be included.

Tips: THUNDER CALL & RED SPELLS DANGER

15.55 Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Classic

BLUE HERCULES turned in a big effort when a neck-second over C&D last time out and a 3lb higher mark shouldn’t be enough to prevent another solid display. PIERRE GROSSE has been narrowly denied on his last couple of outings, and being open to further progress, Jessica Harrington’s charge looks sure to pose a threat.

Tips: BLUE HERCULES & PIERRE GROSSE

16.30 Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Mile

CERULEAN BAY is on a career-high mark but he’s largely consistent and another good run could be on the cards following a fine second at Goodwood. BULLET POINT has only raced three times since scoring off only a pound lower mark at York last August and is handicapped to have a big say in the outcome.

Tips: CERULEAN BAY & BULLET POINT
