Ascot Place 6 Preview | 29th March
13.55 Ascot Racecourse Supports Horse Rangers Hampton Maiden Hurdle
GNOMON has rattled the crossbar on all three hurdle starts, finishing second in each of them and should be winning soon. The other one to consider is THE EGYPTIAN GINGE, who ran a solid race when second at Haydock earlier this month and also has leading claims with more to come.
Tips: GNOMON & THE EGYPTIAN GINGE
14.30 David Keen Handicap Chase
DIPLOMATIC ASH remains higher than when last successful but is dropped in class and could have a prominent role to play. SHERBORNE resumed winning ways with an emphatic victory at Exeter just shy of two weeks ago and is the one to beat based on that success.
Tips: DIPLOMATIC ASH & SHERBORNE
15.05 Sodexo Live! Juvenile Handicap Hurdle
TALAKAN could turn out to be very well treated on handicap debut off a mark of 118. He’s run well to make the frame on all three outings over timber and has plenty more to come. I see no reason why he won’t be thereabouts.
The other one I like is SENATOR, who has improved with each run in this sphere and scored at Market Rasen when last seen. Off a mark of 112, Jamie Snowden’s progressive youngster looks like a major player.
Tips: TALAKAN & SENATOR
15.40 Ascot Racecourse Supports Priors Court School Handicap Chase
PURE CARBON has taken well to fences and wasn’t disgraced behind an impressive winner at Kempton two weeks ago despite the step up in trip stretching his stamina. He should be happier back at two miles, while YES INDEED will appreciate the ease in grade and has the form in the book to run a big race.
Tips: PURE CARBON & YES INDEED
16.15 Barrie Wells Box4Kids Novices’ Handicap Hurdle
HARD DEALT has been quite solid in this sphere so far, gaining a win and multiple placed efforts and should be bang in contention in this winnable contest. ALAN BRESIL might be the outsider of the field but has course experience and could exceed market expectations.
Tips: HARD DEALT & ALAN BRESIL
16.50 Sodexo Live! Veterans’ Handicap Chase
COPPERHEAD rolled back the years to score at Newbury when last seen, beating the reopposing Gabbys Cross, and this Grade 2 C&D winner should make another bold bid under Freddie Gingell. CERTAINLY RED has beaten him before though and is very well handicapped, so he’s definitely a danger.
Tips: COPPERHEAD & CERTAINLY RED
