Aintree Win 6 Preview | 3rd April
13.45 EBC Group Manifesto Novices’ Chase
The form of GIDLEIGH PARK’s latest success was advertised when the runner-up scored at the Cheltenham Festival and I think this course, as well as the trip, will really suit him. I’m quite strong on his chances, with IMPAIRE ET PASSE nominated as the second option in the opener.
Tips: GIDLEIGH PARK & IMPAIRE ET PASSE
14.20 Boodles Anniversary 4-Y-O Juvenile Hurdle
This is a good opportunity for a PUTURHANDSTOGETHER to register a first win at the highest level. He was so impressive in the Boodles last time out and he holds a number of these on a line through that form, so should be hard to beat.
Tips: PUTURHANDSTOGETHER
14.55 Brooklands Golden Miller Chronograph Bowl Chase
AHOY SENOR has finished runner-up in this race for the last two years and a repeat of any of those efforts would probably be enough to see him make it third time lucky in the race. The likes of GAELIC WARRIOR, GREY DAWNING and SPILLANE’S TOWER head the dangers.
Tips: AHOY SENOR, GAELIC WARRIOR. GREY DAWNING & SPILLANE’S TOWER
15.30 William Hill Aintree Hurdle
CONSTITUTION HILL beat LOSSIEMOUTH in the Christmas Hurdle but the gap will probably erode over this longer distance. Nicky Henderson’s charge won this two years ago and will be hard to beat if over his latest tumble, but the dual Mares’ Hurdle winner is over her favoured distance and it would come as no shock to see her win the race. A flip of the coin!
Tips: CONSTITUTION HILL & LOSSIEMOUTH
16.05 Randox Foxhunters’ Open Hunters’ Chase
LIFETIME AMBITION loves these national fences and has been aimed at this contest for the best part of 18 months. This likeable chaser has been in superb form in the PTP scenario of late and has a fantastic chance of landing the spoils here. MY DROGO is a former Grade 1 winner, so he’s worth noting on his first go over these fences, while ONTHEROPES could outrun his odds. He has some good form in his back catalogue from when he was trained by Willie Mullins.
Tips: LIFETIME AMBITION, MY DROGO & ONTHEROPES
16.40 Close Brothers Red Rum Handicap Chase
PETIT TONNERRE looks thrown in off his current mark based on his narrow second to the now 145-rated Imperial Saint over C&D on his seasonal reappearance. He was still going well when brought down last time out and compensation could await him. Top-weight TOMMY’S OSCAR, Donald McCain’s GALUNGGUNG and Irish raider MY MATE MOZZIE could also get involved.
Tips: PETIT TONNERRE, TOMMY’S OSCAR & GALUNGGUNG & MY MATE MOZZIE
