AL WIDYAN improved a lot from his debut fourth to finish third at Kempton last time out and must be respected. The first and second from that race look like they are going to be pretty awful, so Andrew Balding’s charge can put his valuable experience to good use and run a big race.

14.22 Dubai Duty Free Full Of Surprises British EBF Fillies’ Conditions Stakes

SORRENGAIL ought to prove very hard to beat. All of her form looks really useful, especially her decisive win at Ascot, where she thumped subsequent Doncaster winner Speed Of Sound. I think she will double her tally, with Miss Miniver expected to be thereabouts in behind.

SILVER SOVEREIGN confirmed the promise of her second on debut at Salisbury when winning at Haydock last time out. The form has yet to be tested but this filly is heading in the right direction and can make a bold bid.

15.32 Haynes Hanson & Clark Conditions Stakes (Str)

FLYING PIRATE earns the vote. He’s won two of his three starts and was an eight-length winner at Haydock last time out. This is a stronger event but he’s improving at a rate of knots and is well worth his place in the field. I’ll be surprised if he’s not heavily involved at the business end.

16.07 Dubai Duty Free Cup Stakes (Listed)

SPY CHIEF could get back on track. He came so close to beating Almeraq on his penultimate start at Salisbury at this level when a neck-second and the winner has boosted the form in a huge way since, with two Group 1 wins. With Ryan Moore booked for the ride, this four-year-old must have excellent claims.

16.40 Dubai Duty Free Fillies’ Handicap

This is a really hot fillies’ event, with the narrow vote going to HELLO FRIEND. She has run well on all four starts to date, including when finishing second in three of them. She was just denied at Newmarket last time out and must have every chance of going one place better off only a pound higher mark.
