Goodwood Festival Place 6 Preview | 30th July

13.50 Coral Kincsem Heritage Handicap

DECADE OF TIME has two wins and two placed efforts from four starts and has only gone up a couple of pounds for finishing second on handicap debut at Newmarket. I think he’s a leading player, while HARMONICS, the mount of Shane Foley, should be thereabouts. This is a difficult opener to say the least.

Tips: DECADE OF TIME & HARMONICS

14.25 Markel Richmond Stakes (Group 2)

This is a top-class contest with so many smart youngsters set to do battle. CUT A DASH made a winning debut at York’s Dante meeting and finished an unlucky fourth in the Coventry Stakes last time out. That was a really good effort considering he had to wait for a passage, so with more to come, I think he’s a major contender. The unbeaten FLANN SUNNA and NIGHT IN VEGAS are two others to note.

Tips: CUT A DASH, FLANN SUNNA & NIGHT IN VEGAS

15.00 Maison Perrier Gordon Stakes (Group 3)

I am all over the chances of ENCELADUS, who beat a top field at Royal Ascot last time out. The second has bolted up since, while the third ran well in a Listed event when last seen. Open to a lot more improvement stepping up in grade, Joseph O’Brien’s charge is fancied to make it three wins on the bounce.

Tips: ENCELADUS

15.35 Qatar Nassau Stakes (Fillies’ And Mares’ Group 1)

The feature event can go the way of DIAMOND NECKLACE. This top-class filly has won all five career starts, including three Group 1s in succession and it’s hard to see her getting beaten in this event. Even if she did prefer softer ground, she has the class to remain unbeaten. In case of an upset, FRIENDLY SOUL is played as cover. See The Fire has failed on her two previous attempts at this event but likes it here and should go well again.

Tips: DIAMOND NECKLACE & FRIENDLY SOUL

16.10 Buccellati Handicap

SHE’S GOT A BROTHER has speed to burn, so although she probably did too much too soon on her last two outings, she has run well in defeat to suggest she could win a race like this if conserving some energy for the finish. This track ought to play to her strengths and a bold bid looks on the cards. MISS YECHANCE is another to consider.

Tips: SHE’S GOT A BROTHER & MISS YECHANCE

16.45 Whispering Angel Nursery

MIA FANTASIA created a smart display when successful on debut at Carlisle and ran well behind a subsequent Group 2 winner (Dr Rascal) when third at Ascot last time out. He looks sure to progress and can have a big say in the outcome.

Tip: MIA FANTASIA
