Hereford Place 6 Preview | 18th March

14.00 Charity Partner We Are Farming Minds Handicap Chase

Quite a competitive-looking opener but the vote goes to last-time-out winner KINGSCORMAC could be the answer. He’s off a career-high mark but was really impressive at Exeter when last seen and there could be more to come. His record here also reads 1213, so the track suits and he must have every chance.

Tips: KINGSCORMAC

14.30 Hereford Bull Trail Launch 2026 Handicap Hurdle

DWIGHT K SCHRUTE hasn’t won since handicap debut and finished a well-held second last time out on side ground but he looks quite well treated on the pick of his form back on a sounder surface. Isabelle Ryder can also take off an additional 5lb, so she’s fancied to make a bold bid.

Tips: DWIGHT K SCHRUTE

15.00 Enjoy Coneleys Fun Fair This March Mares’ Novices’ Handicap Hurdle

Nico and Nicky have just the one runner on the card in the shape of INDEPENDENT LADY, who could prove hard to beat on handicap debut. She has shaped with some promise on all four starts to date and might have been let in lightly off an opening mark of 90. This race is very winnable, so she’s sure to be thereabouts.

Tips: INDEPENDENT LADY

15.30 Spa Motors Hereford Novices’ Hurdle

Despite jumping sloppy last time out at Newcastle, SILVER HILL almost pulled it out of the fire when flying home late on to be touched off by half a length. He would have easily won that event with a better ground. However, Sam Twiston-Davies is sure to be aggressive on him to ensure his concentration is on the job in hand and I expect the six-year-old to get back to winning ways.

Tips: SILVER HILL

16.00 Remembering Brian Davies And Volcano Novices’ Handicap Chase

JUST AIDAN completed a double between January and March last year and returned to winning ways at Bangor last month. He’s been raised 5lb but clearly this is his time of the year, so in what is an uninspiring event, James Best can guide him to a fourth career success at the expense of No Guarantee.

Tips: JUST AIDAN

16.30 Coneleys Theme Park Fun Fair Handicap Hurdle

TOP COEUR could be a massive player on UK/stable debut for Christian Williams. He ran well on all three starts in Ireland against some very good horses and makes his handicap debut off a very fair mark of 119. He is the only one with potential to rank higher being the least exposed, so he’s definitely one to consider.

Tips: TOP COEUR
