16.55 Valentines ‘Hands And Heels’ Apprentice Handicap

AL BAAHY has made an excellent start to the year, building on a solid third at Newcastle with back-to-back wins across Wolverhampton and Lingfield. He’s slowly creeping up the weights but remains well handicapped on historical form and the hat trick beckons in the opener.

17.30 Heartstrings Restricted Maiden Stakes

I’m going to take a chance on UNIONVILLE, who ran his best race to date when a neck-second at Kempton on handicap debut last time out and wouldn’t need to improve much more to have another major say in the outcome. He’s also drawn well in stall two, so he looks sure to make a bold bid with more to come.

18.00 Cupid’s Arrow Handicap

Just the six runners but all of them have a squeak and the marginal vote goes to ABERAMA GOLD. The nine-year-old is back on his last winning mark and has run well to make the frame the last twice, including over C&D last time out and should go well. GALLANT is the other one to consider dropping down in grade.

18.30 Hearts And Hooves Handicap

I like the look of VICE PRESIDENT. Richard Hughes’ charge has shaped well on his two previous starts over similar distances from unpromising positions. He has fallen to a dangerous-looking mark of 77 considering he was rated as high as 88 last year and I can see him making an impact.

19.00 Sweetheart Novice Stakes

The experience of STAY SALTY could count for plenty given he shaped well when fourth on debut at Kempton. That form has already begun to take shape and this youngster is open to so much more improvement. He should be able to make the places at the very least.

19.30 Secret Admirer Handicap

OH SO SECRET is still in search of a first win but she’s been solid in defeat on a few occasions and should be thereabouts. CRIMSON RAMBLER left all precious form behind him when narrowly denied at Wolverhampton on handicap debut and has every chance of going one better off the same mark.
