I liked the way DEDICATED HERO conducted himself when second on chase debut at Ayr and should be winning some nice races in this sphere. He’s a Grade 2 winner over hurdles and must be thrown in off this unchanged mark of 123. The seven-year-old is up against some good opponents but can open his account with more to come.

It’s hard to see past KOUKEO, who is improving at a rate of knots and must have every chance of completing the hat-trick with more to come. I will cover him with PARISENCORE. The 10-year-old is always there or thereabouts and is a pound below his last winning mark. I can see him emerging as the biggest danger.

This has a wide open feel to it. THE G WIZARD has improved with each start and only found a subsequent winner too good when second over C&D when last seen. He could be a dangerous proposition off a mark of 111 on handicap debut, while THE HATCHET and THE TOOTHPICKER are also in with a squeak,

INIS OIRR won this race two years ago and unseated early in his repeat bid twelve months ago. If he can put his best foot forward off this mark with a low weight, then I see no reason why he can’t make a serious impact. Borders National winner GROZNI and December course winner FORGED WELL are others to note.

15.40 Pertemps Network Group Handicap Hurdle

AHOY SENOR isn’t the force of old but there’s no way he’s lost all of his class in the last year, and given this will be just his fourth start over hurdles, the top weight is worth a chance off this attractive mark. Others to consider include the consistent trio FLORIDA DREAMS, LIHYAN and DOUBLE POWERFUL.
