Chepstow Place 6 Preview | 27th January
13.00 Floyd’s Turfcare & Weed Solutions Ltd Novices’ Handicap Hurdle
LUWDVIG was a ready winner at Lingfield eight days ago, and despite this looking more competitive, it would come as a surprise if he wasn’t able to run well. The seven-year-old has to shoulder a penalty but his stable is in good form and the way he went through that event last time out suggests he could prove capable of defying it.
Tips: LUWDVIG
13.30 Bet Personal Bet Fitzdares Juvenile Hurdle
ONLY ONE BLUE was consistent on the Flat and has made a good start to this sphere, scoring on debut over hurdles before placing twice, including in a Listed event last time out. Back down in grade, with more to come, she should be able to at least fill the frame.
Tips: ONLY ONE BLUE
14.02 Albert Bartlett Triple Crown Series Handicap Hurdle
BINGOO has a really strong record in this grade or lower with statistics reading 1331132, and his last win came off a 5lb higher mark in a much stronger race, where he beat the likes of Resplendent Grey. He’s dangerously well handicapped and is likely to be all the better from his comeback second at Leicester.
Tips: BINGOO
14.37 Kingsbridge Mortgage ‘Chasing Excellence’ Novices’ Chase
JUBY BALL will need to improve to beat Stencil, but the latter isn’t straight forward and I reckon the former can come out on top. This C&D winner was extremely unlucky not to make it 2/2 over fences when falling at Ffos Las last time out when going well but the seven-year-old remains a smart prospect and can make it five wins from just seven career starts.
Tips: JUBY BALL
15.12 Taffy Jenkins Memorial Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle
Alan King’s mare CHARISMA CAT was class in bumpers last season and was unlucky not to get off the mark in this sphere last time out. Her hurdles debut second was good, so she is worth another chance. I think she will make no mistake this time.
Tips: CHARISMA CAT
15.47 Floyd’s Turfcare & Weed Solutions Ltd Handicap Chase
FAT FACED COLUMBO has improved with each start, and although he was left clear to score at Taunton last time out, I think he would have gone very close. The six-year-old has so much more to offer and should go close despite coming up against a host of runners.
Tips: FAT FACED COLUMBO
