12.28 Pertemps Network Novices’ Handicap Chase

TOUQUET has done well in this sphere so far and won with plenty in hand over C&D last month. The handicapper has only raised his mark by 5lb, so with improvement to come, Nick Gifford’s charge is fancied to double his tally in the opener.

12.58 Pertemps Network Maiden Hurdle

DOUBLE MEASURE won his sole bumper start before going close on hurdles debut at Chepstow. That form has worked out well with the third winning twice since and he ought to find this easier than when a good fourth in a Grade 2 event last time out.

13.30 Pertemps Novices’ Handicap Chase

Top-weight LIMETREE BOY is still seeking that first win over fences but this mark shouldn’t be beyond him and his latest second at Windsor was decent. The assessor has reacted by putting him up another 6lb, but if he can stage a repeat, then I see no reason why he cannot make a bold bid.

14.05 Pertemps Network Mares’ Handicap Chase

BATWOMEN hasn’t looked short of promise on both chase outings and she caught the eye when sixth in a stronger event at Cheltenham when last seen. She’s a pound lower in this easier grade and none of her three rivals arrive in good enough form, so she is fancied to come good.

14.40 Albert Bartlett Triple Crown Series Handicap Hurdle

ROYAL WAY has not won since completing a hat trick of juvenile wins in the early part of 2024 but he’s become very well treated as a result and has a good record at this level. He’s 2lb lower than when a close-up third on his penultimate start and must have every chance if the step up in trip is within range.

15.15 Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle

ONEWAYWEST has advanced his form over hurdles this season and was still in with every chance of competing the three-timer when falling at the last at Kempton on Boxing Day. He is up in grade again but is only 3lb higher and could remain competitive for his in-form stable.
