Windsor Place 6 Preview | 16th January
MONEYGARROW appreciated a positive ride when scoring at Warwick when last seen and could be hard to beat. THEY CALL ME HUGO came within a short-head of Grade 2 victory at Cheltenham last month and is a huge player in this lower graded event.
Tips: MONEYGARROW & THEY CALL ME HUGO
13.15 Ronald Fletcher Baker LLP Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase
SAINT DAVY has a good record when crash and finished a good third in a Grade 2 event at Sandown in December of 2024. That is really strong form given what the first and second have achieved since, so he’s the one I like the most. QUEENSBURY BOY should be able to step forward from both chase starts and run well.
Tips: SAINT DAVY & QUEENSBURY BOY
13.50 Fitzdares Your Personal Bookmaker Lightning Novices’ Chase (Grade 2)
BE AWARE has been rock-solid throughout his career and has turned in two good runner-up efforts in Grade 2 and Grade 1 company since winning on chase debut. He is undoubtedly the one to beat. HANSARD is the danger having finished second in a Grade 2 at Kempton last time out and has a chance.
Tips: BE AWARE & HANSARD
14.25 Fitzdares Telephone And Text Betting Service Mares’ Handicap Chase
HOLLYGROVE CHA CHA is a Grade 2 hurdle-winning mare built on her promising chase debut third at Carlisle to return a comfortable winner at Exeter when last seen and has a brilliant strike-rate under rules. The ground is also likely to be in her favour, so he’s a confident choice to gain a second win in this sphere. Surely she’s better than a mark of 129.
Tips: HOLLYGROVE CHA CHA
15.00 Weatherbys Cheltenham Festival Betting Guide Hurdle
Since defeating the high-class Kargese in a Grade 2 event at Ascot in January last year, TAKE NO CHANCES has placed in two Grade 1s at the Cheltenham and Aintree Festival and has placed in two very hot Grade 2s the last two times. With her sights lowered, she’s a strong choice. POTTERS CHARM is also eased in grade and is the second option.
Tips: TAKE NO CHANCES & POTTERS CHARM
15.35 Fitzdares Sovereign Handicap Hurdle
LIVE CONTI should be fit after his comeback run at Ascot last month. I don’t think a mark of 142 is beyond him judged on his second in a Grade 1 at Aintree last April. He’s the main pick ahead of the improving SPECTACULAR SUNRISE and stablemates KNICKERBOCKERGLORY and GREAT FLEET. This is a warm race but I’m hopeful we will get a good spin from at least one of the quartet.
Tips: LIVE CONTI, SPECTACULAR SUNRISE, KNICKERBOCKERGLORY & GREAT FLEET
