Cheltenham Win 6 Preview | 14th November

13.10 Lycetts Insurance Brokers Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle

Plenty to consider in the opener. A PAI DE NOM won well on hurdles debut at Newton Abbot before finishing second to a smart prospect in a tactically-run event. This stronger paced, larger-field scenario should suit better and he looks well treated off a mark of 116. Others to consider include the likes of WALKADINA, AS LEGENDS HAVE IT, top-weight KALIUM and KAP VERT.

Tips: A PAI DE NOM, WALKADINA, AS LEGENDS HAVE IT, KALIUM & KAP VERT

LORD BADDESLEY cash-in on a career-low mark when dominating a small-runner event at Newbury eight days ago and will surely take some beating if turning up in similar form. The likes of course specialist FUGITIF, GUNSIGHT RIDGE, who was unlucky in this race last year and the talented but quirky MISTER COFFEY are others to consider in a tricky-looking event.

Tips: LORD BADDESLEY, FUGITIF, GUNSIGHT RIDGE & MISTER COFFEY

14.20 Sun’s ‘Save Our Bets’ Novices’ Chase

LEAVE OF ABSENCE displayed such a tough attitude to see off Pied Piper over C&D three weeks ago and should come on plenty for the reappearance considering it was his first start since March. I think he’s a good choice to make it three wins on the bounce. WADE OUT got the better of Wendigo when scoring at Worcester on chase debut and is the obvious alternative.

Tips: LEAVE OF ABSENCE & WADE OUT

14.55 Shloer Chase

This is a very good renewal. The highly consistent and top-class JONBON has a fantastic record when fresh, which reads five wins from five starts and has interestingly undergone wind surgery since last seen. Nicky Henderson’s star chaser is the one to side with. I wouldn’t rule out a bold showing from MATATA though.

Tips: JONBON & MATATA

15.30 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle

DESTINATION DUBAI has four wins and a second from five starts and has won both starts in this sphere with plenty in hand. This progressive and underrated six-year-old should have more to offer stepping up in trip. Meanwhile Champion bumper runner-up HEADS UP won on debut in this sphere and should go well, too.

Tips: DESTINATION DUBAI & HEADS UP

16.00 Valda Energy Novices’ Handicap Hurdle

LUCKY BERE has placed on all five starts over hurdles to date and was a big eye-catcher when third on his return at Worcester. With that run under his belt, Jack Tudor’s mount looks sure to be bang in contention come the business end. Of the others, the top-weight FORTUNE DE MAR looks a big player on handicap debut having collected a Grade 2 event three weeks ago, while the in-form ALPHONSE LE GRANDE is another to note.

Tips: LUCKY BERE, FORTUNE DE MAR & ALPHONSE LE GRANDE
