Bath Place 6 Preview | 9th October

13.23 BetWright Bet The Wright Way Handicap

CORSICAN CAPER arrives in good form following back-to-back seconds, with the latest of those coming in a class 2 event at Nottingham.

He’s 3lb higher, but is down significantly in grade, and with Rossa Ryan booked to ride, the five-year-old must have every chance in the opener.

Tips: CORSICAN CAPER

13.55 EBF ‘Confined’ Restricted Novice Stakes

BAILEYS ONTHEROCKS returned as a beaten favourite on debut at Nottingham but took a step forward when third at Lingfield when last seen and could be ready to strike.

This isn’t a strong event, so James Tate’s filly looks capable of posing more of a threat. She earns the vote.

Tips: BAILEYS ONTHEROCKS

14.30 British Stallion Studs EBF Beckford Stakes (Fillies’ And Mares’ Listed)

AEQUITAS might lack experience but she is unbeaten in two starts and David O’Meara wouldn’t be going into the lion’s den with her without good reason. Henry De Bromhead runs two in the race with NUIT getting my vote, the mount of Jamie Spencer.

She was having her first run over this trip when third at Leopardstown last time out, keeping on well from off the pace given she was set with so much to do. I can see her running very well.

Tips: AEQUITAS & NUIT

There was plenty to like about the way ABUNDANT conducted himself when second on debut at Kempton.

He did most of the donkey work on the front end, and despite proving no match for the winner, he rallied late on to keep the third, Parole Officer, at bay.

With plenty more to offer, he’s selected to potentially go one place better.

Tips: ABUNDANT

The Richard Hughes-trained WHITE DEER did plenty wrong on debut, including when being slow into stride, but still shaped with promise and should be able to build on that.

His trainer has often done well at this venue, so he could get involved. Newcomer HEROICS is worth monitoring in the betting for the Alan King and Rossa Ryan combination.

Tips: WHITE DEER & HEROICS

Handicap debutant ALTA RICA has left plenty to work on after three fourth-placed efforts and could have a part to play with her sights lowered.

SPIRIT OF THE BAY is another that will appreciate the drop in grade and her latest fifth in a tougher event was respectable. She has won off stiffer marks in the past, so I see no reason why the mare can’t make a serious impact.

Tips: ALTA RICA & SPIRIT OF THE BAY
